Staff Accountant

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Responsibilities

Reporting

• Assist with the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual reporting as needed

Accounting policies and procedures

• Ensure material conformity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or another accounting standard where appropriate

Compliance

• Assist Brand Controller & Corporate Assistant Controller with year-end audit reporting
• Assist Director of Tax with preparation of state and local tax filings and tax reporting

Transactional Accounting and Other

• Complete month-end closing process in accordance with the finance close calendar
• Prepare and record monthly journal entries
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations, amortization schedules, prepaid and accrued expenses, etc.
• Reconcile intercompany balances across divisions and sub-divisions
• Work with Accounts Payable and Receivable departments to ensure accuracy of transactional accounting
• Maintain general ledger accounts and financial statement reporting structure.
• Update FloQast close checklists and reconciliations as part of the month-end close process

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills:

• CPA a plus
• Knowledge of entertainment industry
• Experience with SAP and/or Xytech

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School education or equivalent required.
• BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent field required.
