Job description

About this role

We are a commercial cleaning master franchise serving Oregon and Washington. We want to be the name facility and property managers think of when they think “reliable, elevated cleaning” in the Pacific Northwest.

To do that, we are building a Stratus Marketing Machine: a repeatable system that turns customer proof, content, and offers into leads and brand equity without depending on the founder.

You will be the person who owns and runs that machine.

Your mission (what you actually own)

Your scorecard will be simple and visible:

  • Qualified demand
  • X new qualified opportunities per month from facility / property managers in OR–WA (number set with you based on current baseline).
  • Local visibility
  • Growth in organic + direct traffic to our territory pages.
  • # of priority cities where we rank in the top 3 map pack for “commercial cleaning + city.”
  • Reputation & brand
  • New 5-star Google reviews per month across franchisees.
  • Average rating above 4.7+.
  • Consistent “Stratus Clean PNW = elevated, low-drama commercial cleaning” message across channels.

If these numbers move in the right direction, you’re winning. If they stall, you own the plan to fix it.

What you’ll do

  • Design and run the Stratus Clean PNW Marketing Machine: build and maintain checklists that constantly generate customer proof, content, and campaigns we can use across SEO, social, email, and sales collateral.
  • Own local SEO: Google Business Profiles, on-site SEO, location pages, citation management, and reporting for our key markets.
  • Build and enforce a review-generation system across franchisees with clear scripts, touchpoints, and goals.
  • Create and manage a simple content calendar for LinkedIn and other relevant platforms, focused on case studies, proof, and offers for facility managers (not vanity posts).
  • Coordinate with any external vendors (paid media, web) as the internal owner: set targets, review performance, and make keep/kill/scale decisions.
  • Report weekly and monthly on your scorecard, insights, and next experiments.
  • Work cross-functionally with franchise owners and sales to ensure what we promise in marketing matches what we deliver, reinforcing our brand flywheel.

You’re a fit if

  • 5–8+ years in hands-on local marketing (SEO, Google Business, social/content) for service or multi-location businesses.
  • You can show before/after examples of moving rankings, traffic, and leads – not just followers.
  • You think in systems, not one-off campaigns: you like checklists, playbooks, and repeatable processes.
  • You’re comfortable being both strategic and scrappy: one hour you’re in GA/Search Console, the next hour you’re filming a quick on-site case study video.
  • You’re data-driven: you can build a simple dashboard, read it, and change behavior based on it.
  • You act like an owner: you want your work tied to real business outcomes, not activity.

What success looks like

In 90 days:

  • Clear baseline metrics and a simple dashboard live.
  • Review system installed and producing consistent 5-star reviews.
  • Priority city list defined and first ranking lifts in motion.
  • Weekly content and proof cadence running without founder involvement.

In 12 months:

  • Stratus Clean PNW is the most visible and best-reviewed commercial cleaner in our core metros.
  • Our lead flow is measurably stronger and more predictable, and the marketing machine runs off checklists you built.

Compensation & process

  • Competitive base salary in line with experienced marketing managers in Portland/Seattle, plus performance-based bonus tied to your scorecard.
  • Hiring process: short application → 20-minute intro call → paid test project (audit + 90-day plan for 2 cities) → panel interview.

If you want to own the marketing machine for a growing regional brand and have your scorecard tied directly to visible market dominance, we’d like to talk.

Pay: $64,700.00 - $78,100.00 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development assistance
  • Vision insurance

Application Question(s):

  • Describe one local SEO project you owned end to end. What was the business, what keywords/locations were you targeting, what was the starting point (rankings/traffic/leads), and what were the results after 3–6 months? Please include specific metrics and, if possible, screenshots or links.
  • What experience do you have marketing local, service-based or multi-location businesses? List up to three examples, your exact role, and the main results you drove.
  • Give an example of a repeatable marketing system or ‘machine’ you built (for example: ongoing review generation, content engine, or inbound lead system). What were the core steps, who did what, and how did you make sure it ran every week without you pushing every button?
  • Have you ever designed and rolled out a process to consistently generate 5-star Google reviews across multiple locations or teams? Describe the process, scripts/touchpoints you used, and how many reviews per month you achieved.
  • You start tomorrow as our Marketing Manager. In your first 90 days, what are the top 5 specific actions you would take to:
  • Improve our Google visibility in Portland and Seattle
  • Increase qualified leads from facility/property managers
  • Grow our volume of 5-star reviews across the territory?
  • Keep it to bullet points.
  • If you got this role, what 3–5 metrics would you put on your personal scorecard to know you’re winning each week? How often would you report them and to whom?
  • Please attach or link to:
  • 1–2 Google Business Profiles or local search results you’ve improved
  • 1 content or social calendar you created and executed
  • 1 marketing report or dashboard you built for non-marketing leadership (with any sensitive data redacted).

Briefly explain, in 2–3 sentences each, what impact these had on leads or revenue
