Job Description:

You build what reporters actually touch: a mobile\-first, bilingual reporting form that asks a member of the public far less than it asks a clinician. Every screen you ship must pass automated and manual accessibility testing, so you build accessible from the first line. Full time, W\-2, hybrid from Fairfax, Virginia, starting November 2026\.

### **Why this job exists**

SPN Solutions has won a new contract to build a public\-facing health reporting application for a federal public health agency. Members of the public and clinicians will use it to submit safety reports in English and Spanish. It is built on cloud services the agency already runs, by a small team in which every person owns their part.

### **What you will do**

• Build the responsive reporting application on the U.S. Web Design System, one codebase across a defined device and browser matrix.
• Build separate public and healthcare\-provider paths from a shared form definition, including paths that suppress fields that do not apply.
• Announce suppressed fields to assistive technology through live regions, and keep step count and progress accurate on every branch.
• Build rules\-based validation and targeted in\-form assistance, including lookups and structured data entry.
• Build save\-and\-resume so a partially completed report survives the session.
• Build secure document upload: allowlist by type and file signature, size caps, quarantine and scan before a file becomes available.
• Build the redesigned landing page, navigation and interactive FAQ content.
• Instrument the reporting funnel for usage analytics, with aggregate counts only.
• Build console screens for the configuration engine under the Technical Lead's design.
• Write unit and integration tests with every change; peer review every change by the Technical Lead.
• Fix defects raised by the QA and Accessibility Specialist within the release cycle.

### **What you need**

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and 5 years of web application development; 9 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• Production experience with React or an equivalent component framework, plus Node.js or TypeScript.
• Accessible front\-end work: semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard support and focus management, tested against WCAG 2\.1 AA.
• Responsive, mobile\-first delivery across browsers and devices.
• Complex form work: conditional logic, client and server validation, file upload.
• Experience in at least one of: healthcare informatics, public health surveillance systems, healthcare data management, or healthcare\-related IT.
• Ability to obtain and keep a federal Public Trust determination.

• U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) on a federal site.
• Internationalized interfaces, especially English and Spanish.
• DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester or IAAP WAS certification.
• Azure App Service and Azure SQL experience.
