Overview

At SKDLA, we're looking for a

QA & Technical

Support Engineer to help ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the technology supporting our dental manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll work closely with our technology partner, Molaris, to support and test ClearPath, our workflow and case management platform, and Orovia, our 3D software platform supporting AI-driven dental operations.

You'll take ownership of automated testing, release validation, troubleshooting, and on-site technical support to ensure our systems operate seamlessly in a fast-paced production environment.

This is a hands-on opportunity to bridge software quality assurance and real-world manufacturing operations, partnering with engineering, IT, and production teams to identify issues, improve system performance, and support the continued advancement of our digital workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an on-site technical resource for production teams, troubleshooting software, hardware, and workflow-related issues to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated end-to-end testing using Playwright to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Design and execute regression, functional, and exploratory testing to identify defects and ensure software quality prior to release.
  • Support software release validation by testing updates in staging environments and confirming readiness for deployment.
  • Test end-to-end digital workflows, including scan capture, data ingestion, case creation, production tracking, and case delivery across multiple devices and workstations.
  • Investigate and reproduce production issues, document findings, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement and validate corrective actions.
  • Translate recurring production issues into automated regression tests to prevent future defects and improve overall system stability.
  • Partner with production, IT, and engineering teams to support software implementations, device configurations, workstation setups, and system enhancements.
  • Develop and improve QA tools, testing scripts, and troubleshooting processes to increase testing efficiency and strengthen system reliability.
  • Maintain clear documentation of test results, defects, resolutions, and system improvements while proactively identifying opportunities to optimize the user experience.
  • Who We’re Looking For: 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, Technical Support, or a related technical field, with hands-on automated testing experience.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright (preferred), Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with the ability to write, troubleshoot, and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and software testing best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose issues across software applications, devices, and network environments.
  • Experience developing test cases, executing regression testing, documenting defects, and supporting software releases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical team members in a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing software testing responsibilities with day-to-day technical support needs.
  • Ability to work on-site in Orange County and provide flexibility around critical software releases or operational needs.

Nice to Have

Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST API testing. Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting. Previous experience supporting software applications in dental laboratories, medical devices, manufacturing, or other production environments.

Familiarity with digital dental workflows, 3D scanning technologies, or manufacturing management systems. Experience collaborating with software engineering teams to improve automated testing coverage and release processes. Why SKDLA?
