Software Developer

Space Ground System Solutions has an immediate full-time opening for a software engineer. The position will be responsible for development of software for satellite command, control and telemetry monitoring.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop front-end and back-end software for web applications in a Linux RHEL environment
• Experience with golang/c++
• Knowledge of build systems.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Participate in UI design for web applications
• Perform System and Software level Integration and Test
• Design and implement software for a large-scale command and control system
• Create and execute integration and system tests and document test procedures
• Troubleshoot software system issues
• Work in a dynamic, fast paced,sometimes pressured environment

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (i.e., Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology)
• Five (5) to ten (10) years of software engineering/development experience in a Linux environment
• Good understanding of distributed systems.
• Experience developing Web applications, Golang applications or Python applications.
• Basic understanding of build systems and containerization

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency developing and testing software in a Linux environment
• Experience documenting test results for corrective actions
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Desire to work in the space industry developing satellite command and control systems for test and operations
• Experience using software configuration management tools (examples: ClearCase, GIT, Mercurial, etc.)
• Experience interacting with databases (examples: Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, etc.)
• EXPERIENCE WRITING SCRIPTS (EXAMPLES: SHELL SCRIPTING, PERL, ETC.)
