About Sovereign Logic Systems
Sovereign Logic Systems LLC is a Phoenix-based, pre-revenue technology company developing proprietary emergency medical information continuity technology and supporting healthcare software applications.
Our planned technology ecosystem includes patient-facing and authorized emergency-responder-facing applications intended to improve access to critical emergency information during time-sensitive situations.
Our goal is to complement existing electronic health records, EMS documentation platforms, hospital systems, and established healthcare infrastructure—not replace them.
We are preparing for a privately financed commercial development program and seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer / Technical Lead to establish the technical foundation for our software applications.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on software engineer with demonstrated technical leadership, software architecture experience, and strong proficiency in Go (Golang), JavaScript, and modern web application development.
The selected professional will evaluate the architecture and development requirements of two interconnected applications: one designed for individuals managing essential emergency information and another intended for authorized emergency medical responders.
The Principal Software Engineer will have responsibility for software architecture recommendations, technology selection, development planning, and software engineering practices.
The company is particularly interested in browser-accessible, cross-platform application development that can support appropriate mobile, tablet, desktop, and rugged-device environments.
However, the final architecture will be determined through technical assessment rather than being mandated in advance.
The position will report to the Founder & CEO and collaborate with established systems architecture and embedded engineering leadership.
We are prioritizing experienced technical leadership before expanding the application software development team.
Recruitment is beginning in advance of financing. The initial engagement is planned as a limited-scope paid project that may proceed only when sufficient financing is available and written authorization has been completed.
Successful collaboration may lead to additional funded milestones or consideration for future full-time employment.
Neither an initial project start date nor future full-time employment is currently guaranteed.
Initial Project Responsibilities
The initial funded engagement will focus on software architecture assessment, engineering coordination, and commercial development planning.
Responsibilities will include:
- Review proposed patient-facing and emergency-responder-facing application workflows, functional requirements, and operational use cases.
- Evaluate browser-accessible, web-first, native, hybrid, and other appropriate software architecture options.
- Assess the suitability of Go (Golang), JavaScript, TypeScript, and related technologies for backend services, application interfaces, and integrated software development.
- Recommend appropriate programming languages, frameworks, databases, infrastructure, and development tools.
- Evaluate secure backend architecture, APIs, user authentication, authorization, and identity-management requirements.
- Assess system behavior during intermittent connectivity, unavailable services, incomplete records, and conflicting information.
- Review patient information management, data provenance, versioning, integrity, and auditability requirements.
- Identify software interfaces and technical dependencies involving the company's underlying continuity technology.
- Evaluate potential healthcare interoperability requirements involving existing EHR, HIE, and EMS/ePCR environments.
- Coordinate with the Systems Architecture & Verification/Validation Lead and Embedded/Firmware Engineering Lead.
- Establish preliminary software development standards, documentation practices, technical review procedures, and testing requirements.
- Identify engineering risks, technology dependencies, resource needs, and implementation constraints.
- Develop a preliminary commercial software development workflow.
- Prepare an initial software engineering Statement of Work (SOW) framework identifying technical deliverables, implementation milestones, staffing requirements, projected effort, and acceptance criteria.
The initial engagement will result in mutually agreed written deliverables and technical recommendations.
The specific schedule, compensation, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and payment arrangements will be established before authorized project work begins.
Potential Future Full-Time Responsibilities
Subject to sufficient financing and a separate employment agreement, the position may expand into leading the company's ongoing commercial software development.
1. Patient-Facing Application Architecture and Development
Lead the architecture and implementation strategy for a secure patient-facing application designed to help individuals create, review, and maintain essential emergency information.
