Job description

About this role

This is a fully onsite position in Alpharetta, Georgia. Our client is seeking an AI-first Software Engineer with approximately 1–2 years of professional experience who is excited about using artificial intelligence, automation, and modern development tools to solve real business problems.

This is a hands-on, highly collaborative position working directly with company leadership to identify operational inefficiencies and build practical technology solutions. Rather than receiving a traditional backlog of development tickets, you will be given business challenges, work directly with employees to understand their processes, and determine how AI and automation can improve the way work gets done.

A primary objective is to reduce the significant time employees spend on repetitive, administrative, and other non-billable activities, allowing investigative teams to focus more of their time on revenue-generating client work. This is not a traditional software maintenance position or an AI research role.

It is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys experimenting with emerging technology, building useful solutions, and seeing the direct impact of their work.

What You Will Do

  • Work directly with company leadership to identify operational challenges and opportunities to improve business efficiency.
  • Collaborate face-to-face with investigators, managers, and employees to understand existing workflows, observe manual processes, and uncover inefficiencies.
  • Design, develop, and implement AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, automated workflows, and practical internal tools.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce non-billable administrative work, improve resource utilization, and streamline investigative processes.
  • Explore solutions for operational challenges involving scheduling, planning, task coordination, information retrieval, and workflow management.
  • Use generative AI, AI-assisted development tools, APIs, and modern software development techniques to rapidly prototype and deliver solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine where they can provide measurable business value.
  • Develop solutions that integrate with or complement existing business systems without requiring a complete replacement of legacy applications.
  • Test solutions with employees, gather feedback, and refine applications based on actual business needs.
  • Take ownership of assigned business challenges, from understanding the problem through developing and implementing a practical solution.
  • What We Are Looking For Approximately 1–2 years of professional software engineering or application development experience.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI, large language models, or AI-assisted development tools to build software applications or solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI agents, agentic workflows, automation, or related emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience developing software applications and working with APIs, integrations, or modern development frameworks.
  • Demonstrated interest in independently exploring, learning, and experimenting with emerging AI technologies.
  • Ability to investigate business problems, ask thoughtful questions, and translate operational needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate multiple approaches rather than relying on a single technology.
  • Clear communication skills and an interest in collaborating directly with both technical and nontechnical employees.
  • Ability and willingness to work fully onsite in Alpharetta, Georgia .
  • What Will Help You Succeed The successful candidate will enjoy working in an environment where technology is used to solve practical business problems.

You will be someone who

Thinks AI-first: Actively explores how AI and automation can improve software development and everyday business operations.

Enjoys building

Prefers creating working applications, experimenting with ideas, and iterating on solutions.

Is naturally curious

Wants to understand how things work, why processes exist, and where improvements can be made.

Engages with people

Enjoys collaborating in person, asking questions, and learning directly from employees throughout the organization.

Takes initiative

Is comfortable receiving a business challenge without a detailed technical specification and determining the next steps.

Approaches challenges constructively

Sees inefficient processes and existing technology limitations as opportunities to develop practical solutions.

Continues learning

Independently explores new AI tools, development techniques, and emerging technologies.

Focuses on business impact

Understands that the goal is not simply to build technology, but to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary work, and help employees become more productive. Why This Opportunity? This position offers the opportunity to work directly with company leadership and make a visible impact on how an established business operates.

Rather than working on a narrow component of a large software platform, you will have the opportunity to investigate business challenges, experiment with modern AI technologies, and develop solutions that employees can put to use.

For an early-career engineer interested in applied AI, this role provides exposure to real operational problems, direct interaction with business stakeholders, and the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful software and automation initiatives.
