About this role

Company: SolarPorts

Location: Remote (Northern California) | Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Target Regions: San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Central Valley, and Northern California Coast

Why Join SolarPorts?

At SolarPorts, we are accelerating the deployment of premium Level 3 DC Fast Charging infrastructure across high-traffic commercial corridors in Northern California.

  • High-Impact Autonomy: Say goodbye to legacy corporate bureaucracy. At SolarPorts, site acquisition leaders have the agility, speed, and executive backing to move deals from initial pitch to signed lease rapidly.
  • Uncapped Earning Potential: We offer an aggressive, transparent commission structure designed to directly reward top producers for every executed site host agreement.
  • Capitalizing on NorCal Growth: Northern California is the premier EV market in North America. You will lead our expansion across prime shopping centers, REIT portfolios, and retail destinations with strong foot-traffic fundamentals and high revenue potential.
  • Innovating Site Host Value: We offer flexible, value-driven site-host lease and revenue-sharing models that make pitching commercial property owners straightforward and mutually lucrative.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Representative / Site Acquisition Manager to drive our EV charging infrastructure expansion across Northern California. In this role, you will lead outreach to commercial real estate owners, REITs, retail asset managers, and shopping center developers to secure long-term site-host agreements for Level 3 DC Fast Chargers.

The ideal candidate brings direct experience from major EV charging networks (Tesla Supercharger, EVgo, Electrify America) and possesses an established network of regional retail property decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Property Owner Outreach: Perform targeted cold outreach, relationship-building, and high-level pitching to shopping center owners, strip mall developers, retail asset managers, and commercial real estate REITs across NorCal.
  • Deal Structuring & Closing: Present and negotiate site-host lease agreements, revenue-share models, and turnkey installation proposals to C-suite and asset management stakeholders.
  • Site Viability Assessment: Perform preliminary site evaluations considering vehicle foot traffic, parking layout, electrical room access, and proximity to major arterial corridors.
  • Utility & Permitting Coordination: Navigate Northern California utility processes (specifically PG&E grid capacity, Rule 29, and interconnection timelines) and coordinate with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) for zoning/permitting feasibility.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a high-volume pipeline of target properties from initial outreach through signed host agreement and handoff to project delivery teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Direct EV Industry Experience: 3+ years of site acquisition or business development experience at a leading EV network (e.g., Tesla, EVgo, Electrify America, or similar CPO).
  • Commercial Real Estate Expertise: Proven track record negotiating site host/lease agreements with commercial real estate owners, asset managers, and REITs.
  • Northern California Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the NorCal commercial real estate landscape, local retail corridors, and PG&E utility interconnection workflows.
  • Technical Aptitude: Understanding of EV charging infrastructure fundamentals (L3 DC Fast Charging, power capacity requirements, foot-traffic monetization, and site economics).
  • Communication: Exceptional phone, email, and in-person presentation skills for pitching property owners and board-level decision-makers.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $130,000 per year (Compliant with CA SB 1162 Pay Transparency)
  • Performance Incentives: Uncapped commission / performance bonus paid per executed site lease agreement
  • Benefits: Full health, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) matching; mileage/travel reimbursement; flexible PTO.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Benefits:
