We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Data to define and lead the strategy for a modern data ecosystem that transforms customer interactions, behavioral insights, and business intelligence into impactful product experiences.
This role will drive the vision for how data is collected, managed, activated, and leveraged to enable personalization, commerce optimization, and strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Platform Ownership
- Define and evolve the data strategy that supports customer experiences, personalization initiatives, and business growth objectives.
- Establish data models that capture customer behaviors, interactions, preferences, and commerce-related activities.
- Own the end-to-end flow of data across platforms, ensuring data is effectively collected, managed, governed, and activated.
- Partner with engineering, analytics, and data science teams to make architectural decisions regarding data platforms, pipelines, storage, and access strategies.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy opportunities and guide long-term investment decisions related to data infrastructure.
- Develop strategies to intentionally generate valuable customer and business insights through experimentation, instrumentation, and data enrichment initiatives.
- Align stakeholders around a multi-year vision for data, analytics, and personalization capabilities.
Personalization & Customer Experience
- Define strategies for leveraging customer and behavioral data to deliver relevant, personalized user experiences.
- Lead initiatives that enhance product recommendations, content personalization, customer discovery, and engagement.
- Establish data-driven approaches to improve customer retention, subscription experiences, reorder behavior, and lifecycle engagement.
- Identify opportunities to translate customer insights into meaningful product enhancements and business outcomes.
- Ensure product decisions are informed by measurable customer behaviors and performance data.
Product Leadership & Roadmap Development
- Create and manage a strategic roadmap for data products, platforms, and personalization capabilities.
- Translate complex business challenges into product opportunities, measurable hypotheses, and actionable initiatives.
- Balance customer needs, business priorities, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability when making product decisions.
- Drive prioritization discussions and investment planning with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Define success metrics, monitor outcomes, and continuously optimize product performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, marketing, customer relationship teams, analytics, and customer experience leaders.
- Influence executive stakeholders and build alignment across diverse teams around strategic data initiatives.
- Facilitate decision-making by clearly communicating tradeoffs, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
- Act as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders to ensure successful execution and adoption of data solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Product Management experience with significant focus on data products, platform products, personalization, growth initiatives, or related domains.
- Proven track record of defining and executing data or personalization strategies.
- Experience working within e-commerce, direct-to-consumer (DTC), subscription-based, or digital commerce businesses.
- Strong understanding of data ecosystems, including customer data platforms, data pipelines, event tracking, experimentation frameworks, and analytics solutions.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams on technical architecture and platform decisions.
- Ability to convert ambiguous business objectives into measurable product strategies and data-driven outcomes.
- Strong analytical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional alignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, food and beverage, subscription commerce, or other recurring-purchase industries.
- Familiarity with modern e-commerce platforms and digital commerce ecosystems.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations, data governance principles, consent management, and responsible data practices.
- Experience developing personalization engines, recommendation systems, or customer lifecycle optimization strategies.
- Strong understanding of experimentation methodologies, customer analytics, and growth-focused product development.
- Experience building data platforms that support business intelligence, marketing activation, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
