About Smartly

TrySmartly is building a next-generation consumer lending marketplace for underserved and subprime borrowers. We take in traffic and lead submissions from distribution partners, enrich and evaluate that data, and connect consumers with lenders and financial-services providers through API integrations, intelligent matching and routing, and data-driven decisioning.

We are early-stage, led by our Co-founder that has built and scaled marketplace platforms before, including leadership from Even Financial (now part of MoneyLion / Gen Digital) and Bankrate. The playbook is still being written, decisions get made in days rather than quarters, and the person in this role will have real influence over how the business scales.

About the Role

We are hiring a product leader to own Smartly’s consumer lending marketplace end to end — from the moment traffic or a lead enters through an affiliate, partner API, or referral experience, through enrichment, qualification, lender matching, offer presentation, redirect, and downstream conversion.

This is a hands-on job. In a given week you might review source-level funnel analytics, design an A/B test, write requirements for a lead-post API, work through a data schema with an engineer, and discuss revenue per lead with the commercial team. You will work directly with the founders.

We are open on level. Strong Senior PM and Director-level candidates should both apply; we will set the title to match experience.

What You’ll

Own

Consumer funnel and conversion

  • The end-to-end funnel, from acquisition or lead ingestion through lender conversion and monetization.
  • A continuous experimentation roadmap — A/B tests, cohort and source-level analysis, field-level drop-off — and the discipline to turn findings into shipped changes.

Marketplace and monetization

  • Product strategy for lead monetization: lender eligibility and knockout criteria, offer matching and ranking, routing logic, and traffic allocation.
  • The move from primarily rules-based matching toward scored, data-driven routing and ranking, in partnership with Data Science.

APIs and partner integrations

  • Requirements and roadmap for lead-ingestion APIs, buyer and lender integrations, and third-party data connections — payloads, schemas, webhooks, conversion events, attribution, error handling, and monitoring.
  • Tooling and process that shorten the path from signed partner to live, measurable integration.

Data and measurement

  • The measurement framework for the funnel and the marketplace: volume by source, eligibility and offer rates, click-through, application and approval rates, revenue per lead, and downstream quality.
  • Evaluation and integration of enrichment sources — credit attributes, identity, verification, income and employment, behavioral signals — where they measurably improve matching, conversion, or revenue per lead.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in product management — fintech, consumer lending, marketplaces, lead generation, performance marketing, adtech, or another data-heavy consumer business.
  • Ownership of a funnel, marketplace, or performance product with measurable accountability for conversion, revenue, or unit economics.
  • Real fluency with REST APIs, JSON, data schemas, event tracking, and webhooks — enough to write the spec and help debug the integration.
  • Strong experimentation and funnel-analysis skills, and the ability to define the KPIs rather than inherit them.
  • SQL, or a demonstrated ability to get answers out of large datasets without waiting on someone else.
  • Comfort in an early-stage environment with incomplete tooling and shifting priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Consumer lending, personal loans, or credit products.
  • Multi-lender or multi-buyer marketplaces: waterfalls, auctions, lead scoring, offer management.
  • Third-party data providers, enrichment services, or identity and verification tools.
  • Working with Data Science or ML on predictive models, ranking, or decisioning systems.
  • Regulated consumer financial services; product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker, or Tableau.

Why This Role

You will not inherit a roadmap. You will help decide how Smartly ingests leads, enriches data, matches consumers to lenders, presents offers, and measures what happens after the redirect — with direct access to the leadership team and the latitude to act on what the data says.

If you like funnels that are visibly broken, marketplace economics that are still being worked out, and the chance to build decisioning systems from close to scratch, this is that job.

Compensation

*Base: $150K to $190K

*Bonus: Up to 10% of Annual Base, tied to company financial performance and individual goals
