About this role

About the Role

Signgrafx is looking for a hands-on production-focused team member to join our Dallas operation.

This position will be responsible primarily for sign production and fabrication in our Dallas shop, while also supporting our Project Manager with graphic design, estimating, customer communication, and sales support as needed.

This is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with both computers and tools. One part of the day may involve preparing artwork in Adobe Illustrator, and another may involve running a CNC router, cutting substrates, assembling signs, operating printing equipment, or helping prepare a project for installation.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable learning new equipment, solving problems, and taking ownership of projects from artwork through production.

What You’ll Do

  • Sign Production & Fabrication: Produce commercial and architectural signage in our Dallas facility.
  • Operate and learn equipment including CNC routers, flatbed printers, large-format printers, vinyl plotters, saws, and finishing equipment.
  • Cut and handle substrates including acrylic, aluminum, ACM, PVC, plastics, and other sign materials.
  • Use table saws, panel saws, drills, routers, sanders, hand tools, and power tools safely and accurately.
  • Assemble dimensional letters, ADA signs, wayfinding signs, panels, displays, and other fabricated sign products.
  • Perform basic painting, finishing, mounting, assembly, and light fabrication.
  • Load, move, and safely handle full and partial sheets of sign substrates.

Graphic Design & Pre-Press

  • Create and modify production-ready artwork using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Prepare vector artwork, layouts, cut paths, contours, bleeds, and production files.
  • Review customer artwork and make necessary adjustments for printing, routing, cutting, or fabrication.
  • Assist with proofs and production drawings.
  • FlexiSign experience is helpful but not required.

Sales & Project

Support

  • Support our Project Manager with customer inquiries, estimating, proofs, and project coordination.
  • Help gather dimensions, materials, quantities, installation information, and other details needed to quote projects.
  • Communicate professionally with customers by phone and email when needed.
  • Assist with preparing estimates and following up on active opportunities.
  • Help move jobs from sales and design into production with accurate information and complete production files.

Installation & Shop

Support

  • Assist with local installations when needed.
  • Install non-electric signage, wall graphics, dimensional letters, ADA signage, panels, and similar products.
  • Work safely on ladders and lifts when required.
  • Weed and mask vinyl, finish panels, assemble hardware, package completed projects, and prepare jobs for delivery or installation.
  • Maintain an organized and safe production area.

What You BringRequired

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, particularly vector artwork and production file preparation.
  • Comfortable working in a production and fabrication environment.
  • Comfortable using saws, drills, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Willing and able to learn and operate a CNC router and other sign-production equipment.
  • Able to accurately use a tape measure and work from dimensions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to figure out how things are built and assembled.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a production team.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an insurable driving record.
  • Able to lift and carry substrates, panels, equipment, and materials up to approximately 75 lbs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and safely maneuver larger sheets of material.
  • Comfortable occasionally working outdoors or at heights on ladders or lifts.

Especially Valuable Experience

Experience in any of the following is a strong plus:

  • Sign manufacturing
  • CNC routing
  • Large-format printing
  • Flatbed UV printing
  • Vinyl production or installation
  • Carpentry or woodworking
  • Cabinet or millwork fabrication
  • Metal fabrication
  • Construction
  • Architectural signage
  • ADA and wayfinding signage
  • Dimensional letters and logos
  • Painting and finishing
  • Adobe Illustrator production/pre-press
  • FlexiSign or RIP software

Training will be provided on our equipment, production processes, estimating system, and product standards.

Schedule &

Work Environment

  • Location: Dallas, Texas
  • Monday–Friday
  • Approximately 9:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
  • Occasional overtime or Saturdays during larger projects or peak production periods.

This is primarily a Dallas shop-production position, with time also spent on graphic design, project support, customer communication, and occasional field installation.

The ideal candidate should expect to spend significantly more time producing and fabricating signs than sitting behind a desk.
