Operations Manager – Soda, Juice & Ice Manufacturing

Shamrock needs an Operations Manager who will take charge of the floor. You’ll be a detail-oriented leader who spots what’s off, fixes it, and builds a better way to run it. If you’d rather work from an office than on the production floor, this isn’t the job.

Shamrock Group has served the Minneapolis area for more than 80 years. We make soda, juice, and packaged ice, and we run beverage distribution and refrigeration services. We’re under new ownership and in a period of growth and modernization.

Many of our processes were never written down, and the person in this role will build them.

What you’ll do

• Run daily operations across the soda, juice, and ice departments, and lead 15–25 production employees.
• Be on the floor every day. Work alongside the team, watch the lines, and solve problems as they happen.
• Set clear expectations and hold people accountable for safety, quality, attendance, and output.
• Build and enforce SOPs, work instructions, checklists, and training materials where none exist, and fix the ones that aren’t working.
• Plan production schedules around demand, staffing, inventory, and equipment availability.
• Track labor, overtime, output, downtime, waste, and product loss. Use the numbers to find bottlenecks and make changes.
• Work with maintenance on equipment issues and preventative maintenance.
• Keep ingredients, packaging, supplies, and finished goods at the right levels.
• Train and develop employees and department leads.
• Partner with warehouse, distribution, purchasing, sales, and ownership.

Food safety and sanitation

Accurate records and consistent follow-through are a big part of this job. You will:

• Maintain and enforce our HACCP plan and SSOPs, and monitor critical control points.
• Make sure production, sanitation, and quality records are complete and correct every shift.
• Enforce GMPs and investigate food safety or quality issues. Put corrective actions in place and confirm they hold.
• Get us ready for internal, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
• Support compliance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, state, and local requirements.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in operations, production, manufacturing, or distribution.
• Experience managing 15–25 hourly employees.
• A detail-oriented person who notices small problems before they get big, and who checks the work and the paperwork.
• Someone decisive who takes ownership, makes the call, and follows through.
• Comfort in an environment where processes are still being built.
• Working knowledge of HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, or similar food safety programs.
• Experience with production scheduling, labor management, and inventory.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, and a track record of developing people.

Preferred

• Experience in soda, juice, beverage, packaged ice, or food manufacturing.
• Background with a larger organization such as Coca-Cola, Keurig Dr Pepper, or PepsiCo.
• HACCP certification or formal food safety training.
• Experience with audits, KPIs, production tracking, or continuous improvement.
• Experience in both manufacturing and distribution.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
