Software Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid Software Engineer role based in Sycamore, IL, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that support Seymour’s operations, manufacturing processes, and digital platforms.

Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, implementing back-end services and APIs, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable systems.

The role also involves participating in code reviews, improving existing applications for performance and scalability, and contributing to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development principles.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
• Experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Ability to analyze requirements, design robust technical solutions, and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of software testing practices, debugging techniques, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid on-site/remote environment.
• Experience with manufacturing, industrial systems, or ERP integration is a plus.

Pay: $94,800.00 - $115,000.00 per year
