**SUMMARY**

**The Business Intelligence Architect will focus on implementing data driven analytics culture by standardizing BI technologies, development lifecycle \& processes across The Mentor Network. They will work directly with stakeholders and team members to define, design and deliver actionable insights while working with ETL developers and BI developers in an agile environment. **

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**

**** **Design, develop, implement, and support highly complex BI applications of strategic or functional importance including: integration with data sources; highly automated data refresh processes; best\-in\-class data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that communicate critical insights to drive decision making**

• **Rich experience in understanding the Data warehouses/Data marts**
• **Execute roadmap of business focused BI initiatives with a clear understanding of all deliverables and associated deadlines**
• **Expert in designing, developing Power BI Dashboards**
• **Develop and maintain data management standards, and documentation of current data sources, raw data, data marts, transformations, and report specifications**
• **Oversee data quality including validation, cleansing/scrubbing, ETL methods, etc.**
• **Participate in data integration, business intelligence (BI) and enterprise information management programs by rationalizing data processing to support reuse.**
• **Ensure best possible performance and quality in ETL packages, Stored Procedures and SQL.**
• **Performs additional duties and activities as required.**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with approximately 7 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting modern cloud\-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands\-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, SQL, and Azure DevOps CI/CD.

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building scalable and reliable data ingestion and transformation pipelines, developing enterprise data models, implementing data engineering best practices, and supporting end\-to\-end data orchestration and deployment.

Data Engineering \& ETL/ELT

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Develop metadata\-driven and reusable ADF pipelines for API, database, file, and cloud\-based data sources.
• Implement data ingestion into Snowflake Raw, Staging, Data Warehouse, and Information Mart layers.
• Develop robust data transformation processes using SQL and dbt.
• Implement incremental loading, CDC, error handling, restart ability, logging, and operational monitoring.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.

Snowflake Development

• Design and develop Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and tasks.
• Develop scalable data warehouse models following enterprise data architecture standards.
• Implement Snowflake security including RBAC, roles, warehouses, masking policies, and secure data access.
• Perform SQL tuning and Snowflake performance optimization.
• Monitor Snowflake workloads and identify opportunities for compute and storage optimization.
• Develop data models supporting analytics, reporting, and downstream applications.

dbt Development

• Develop and maintain dbt models, macros, tests, sources, snapshots, and documentation.
• Implement modular and reusable transformation frameworks using dbt.
• Establish data quality checks and testing using dbt.
• Implement incremental models and dependency management.
• Follow best practices for dbt project structure, naming conventions, documentation, and model governance.
• Work with Data Architects and Analytics teams to implement dimensional and analytical data models.

Airflow \& Data Orchestration

• Design and develop Apache Airflow DAGs for end\-to\-end data orchestration.
• Orchestrate workflows across Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, dbt, APIs, and other data services.
• Implement scheduling, dependencies, retries, failure handling, alerts, and operational monitoring.
• Develop reusable Airflow operators, connections, variables, and configuration where appropriate.
• Integrate Airflow with enterprise data platforms and external services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and orchestration failures.

Azure DevOps \& CI/CD

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for data engineering code and infrastructure.
• Manage source control using Git and establish branching, pull\-request, and code\-review practices.
• Automate deployment of ADF pipelines, dbt projects, Snowflake objects, and Airflow code across environments.
• Support development, QA/UAT, and production deployment processes.
• Implement automated testing and deployment validation.
• Participate in release management, change control, and production support.

Data Quality \& Governance

• Implement data quality validations throughout the data pipeline.
• Identify and resolve data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity issues.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for pipeline failures and data quality issues.
• Follow enterprise standards for data security, governance, metadata, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Data Architecture and Data Governance teams to implement data standards.

***Education and Experience:**** Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field required.

• 7 or more years’ experience managing and designing systems in an enterprise infrastructure environment required.

***Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:***

• Vendor certification (Azure cloud, Snowflake, DBT etc.) preferred.

***Other Skills and Abilities:***

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, EasyVista or similar application preferred.
• Experience with MySQL, SQL Server and Cache preferred.
• Python for data engineering and automation
• REST API integration
• Kafka or other streaming technologies
• Snowflake security and RBAC
• Infrastructure\-as\-Code concepts
• Power BI and semantic models
• Azure Functions or Logic Apps
• Datacoves or similar modern data engineering platforms
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
