Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) to join our team in an outpatient setting. The incumbent will be responsible for psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for clients with various mental health conditions, including opioid use disorder.

The role will include prescribing Suboxone and other psychotropic medications while working closely with therapists, case managers, and primary care providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including Suboxone for opioid use disorder when clinically indicated.
• Provide expert consultation and guidance on diagnosis and treatment planning within a collaborative team.
• Coordinate care with therapists, case managers, and primary care providers to optimize patient outcomes.
• Perform urine drug screens (UDS) as needed, with support from nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in an electronic health record (EHR) system with e-prescribing.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and regulatory standards, including confidentiality and patient rights regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in psychiatry or a related field.
• DEA certification (or eligibility) to prescribe Suboxone for opioid use disorder.
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric medication management and substance use disorder treatment.
• Experience working in an outpatient mental health setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and e-prescribing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in substance use disorder treatment and addiction medicine.
• Additional training or certification in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment is a plus.

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
