Mechanical Engineer/Designer

Semicore designs and manufactures highly specialized, custom automation systems—and we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer/Designer who wants to do real, comprehensive design work. You won't get stuck in a silo here analyzing tiny components. Instead, you will have the creative freedom and technical challenge of designing and building cutting-edge automated vacuum deposition systems from scratch.

If you have a rock-solid mechanical aptitude, strong CAD skills, and an active track record in equipment design, you'll fit right in. Experience with high-vacuum technology gives you a massive head start, but if you have a background in any type of heavy industrial machinery, your skills are incredibly valuable to us.

Job Description:

• Mechanical design components for vacuum based equipment using SolidWorks as your primary tool.
• Create detail drawings for machined and sheetmetal parts
• Create assembly drawings and bill of materials
• Create Solidworks models and detail drawings for new and existing parts.
• Ability to measure and QC/QA incoming parts using inspection tools.

Required Experience:

• 1 or more years experience with Solidworks (prefer 2 or more)
• Experience with design of machined & sheet metal parts and assemblies, preferably for vacuum deposition equipment (PVC, CVD, Etch) but any equipment design background is desirable.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities with minimal supervision
• Communicate effectively with varied levels of technical and non-technical personnel in order to establish a team-oriented atmosphere.
• Ability and willingness to get involved with projects carry them through to completion.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
• Able to lift ~40lb

Desired Experience:

• Familiar with high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum design principles

Additional Skills and Abilities: Must possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to adapt to new and changing work environments.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
