About this role
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Systems & Functional Architecture
Lead to oversee the complete lifecycle of complex system designs. In this role, you will lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure functional architecture feasibility, maximize component standardization and reuse, and align technical execution with quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities
System Feasibility & Execution: Drive system design feasibility to achieve project quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Standardization & Reuse
Establish standardized design practices and maximize the reuse of functions, components, and parts to shorten time-to-market and reduce development costs.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination
Oversee and synchronize activities across specialized engineering disciplines, including Systems Designers, Component Leaders, and Analyst Engineers.
Technical Milestone Reviews
Plan and lead major technical system reviews, including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), System Functional Reviews (SFR), and Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR).
Architecture & Lifecycle Management
Organize, govern, and maintain the system architecture and product lifecycle via PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
Progress Verification
Monitor, measure, and control progressive system convergence and milestone achievement using architectural data and domain views.
Project Reporting
Provide clear, data-driven system-level technical status updates and risk assessments to Project Management. Technical Skills & Competencies Functional Architecture Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of functional architecture design and system decomposition.
Connected Services Expertise
Deep understanding of connected vehicle/IoT service frameworks (e.g., authentication, user profiles, feature activation, automated emergency call/xCall).
Requirement Breakdown
Proven ability to translate high-level customer requirements into discrete functional groups and sub-system architectures.
Safety Integration
Ability to incorporate operational safety, hazard mitigation, and functional safety requirements into overall system architectures.
Configuration & Traceability Governance
Strong knowledge of complex system documentation structures, traceability standards, and enforcing configuration management practices across teams.
Domain Knowledge (Plus)
Exposure to complex mechanical and electronic vehicle systems (e.g., powertrains, braking systems, ADAS, chassis controls) is highly advantageous.
Modeling Tools (Plus)
Experience modeling electronic/electrical architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or system engineering software tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or functional architecture within a multidisciplinary product development environment.
Communication
Ability to apply rigorous technical documentation practices and communicate clearly with both technical specialists and executive project managers.
