SCM Real Estate Services provides private and institutional owners of office, retail, industrial, and flex properties across Dallas/Fort Worth and South Texas with property management services that go beyond the norm.

SCM works hand-in-hand with its sister company, Skywalker Property Partners, an entrepreneurial commercial real estate investment firm that sources and repositions value-add properties across Texas and the Southwest. Like our clients, we are entrepreneurs and property owners ourselves.

The Position

We're looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant who wants to build a strong foundation for an accounting career. You'll own core monthly bookkeeping across multiple entities in Rent Manager, and you'll get early exposure to work most entry-level roles never touch: financial review, CPA and tax support, and real estate acquisitions and dispositions. No Rent Manager experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Bookkeeping

• Monthly bank reconciliations across all entities
• Monthly credit card reconciliations
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
• Bank deposits
• Journal entries and coding of expenses
• Day-to-day data entry and transaction processing in Rent Manager

Accounting Support & Reporting

• Review of financials for accuracy prior to management review
• Compiling information to support management decision-making
• Providing CPAs with information needed for tax return preparation
• Reviewing property management reports for accuracy

Entity & Transaction

Support

• Assisting with entity organization and closing documentation for acquisitions and dispositions
• Supporting entity management and corporate governance recordkeeping (minutes, resolutions, banking setup) as needed
• Other accounting duties and projects as they come up

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Recent and December graduates are encouraged to apply
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; strong attention to detail
• Comfortable in Excel and Word; Rent Manager or other accounting software experience is a plus, not a requirement
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic who wants to grow an accounting career
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
• Interest in commercial real estate (no prior real estate experience needed)
• Comfortable in a growing company where your role will expand as you learn

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
