Sr Business Analyst

Job Description:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• 12+ years of overall experience in platform engineering, DevOps, and/or DevSecOps
• 7+ years hands-on platform/DevOps/DevSecOps ownership
• 4+ years hands-on CI/CD with strong GitLab CI/CD proficiency
• 3+ years Kubernetes in production (AWS EKS) and Docker
• Hands-on IaC (Terraform/CDK), scripting (Bash/Python), and GitOps (ArgoCD)
• Deep experience with SAST/DAST/SCA/container and secrets scanning as enforced pipeline gates
• 3+ years AWS security (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, WAF, Config)
• Federal compliance expertise: FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Solutions Architect or Security Specialty certification
• CKA/CKS (Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Security Specialist)
• Multi-region high-availability operations experience
• Policy-as-code expertise (OPA/Gatekeeper)
• FISMA High or FedRAMP Moderate ATO support experience
• Pen-test coordination and control testing experience

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Meteorology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a business analyst for software applications
• Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with business process modeling and workflow analysis
• Proficiency with Agile development methodologies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with software development teams translating user needs to technical specifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with or interest in Generative AI tools and GenAI prompting best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Experience with meteorological systems or scientific operational applications
• Knowledge of NWS weather forecasting operations and the AWIPS platform
• Background in transitioning desktop applications to web-based platforms
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, particularly AWS
• Experience with government or mission-critical systems
• Knowledge of geospatial data visualization or GIS applications
• Certification in business analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent)
• Experience with user acceptance testing and requirements validation
