About this role

Sales Account Manager (Inside Sales) – Cincinnati, OH

School Outfitters | ESOP | No Weekends or Holidays | Hybrid Work Environment (4 days in office, 1-day WFH)

Build a Career with a Healthy Culture, Meaningful Work, and a Team That Believes in People.

WE are hiring recent college graduates as Inside Sales Account Managers. No sales expereince required-we will teach you the job.

Why This Role Matters

At School Outfitters, our culture starts with five core values: Believe in People, Enjoy the Journey, Relentlessly Search for Better, Live the Golden Rule, and Play to Win. These values shape how we support one another, serve our customers, solve problems, and celebrate success.

If you are a recent college graduate looking to launch your career with meaningful work, a healthy team culture, strong benefits, and an employee-owned company where your contribution matters, this is the place to start. You don’t need sales experience—if you bring the right skills and drive, we will teach you how to succeed.

Our mission is to help educators prepare people for the future by getting their orders done right. School environments make a difference, and we help facilitate the dreams of educators nationwide by creating thriving, productive, and conducive learning spaces where their students and communities can succeed.

School Outfitters transforms more than 40,000 education spaces each year, giving you the opportunity to connect your sales success to a purpose that matters.

In this role, you will combine consultative selling, urgency, persistence, organization, and genuine care for the customer. Success means more than answering an inquiry or creating a quote—it means owning the opportunity through the buying process, helping educators bring their vision to life, and driving the opportunity toward an order.

How Can You Make an Impact in This Role?

School Outfitters provides qualified, warm leads and the opportunity to serve an existing customer base representing more than 35,000 school districts. You will discover what is happening across each customer’s district and earn referrals. You will showcase School Outfitters’ full capabilities, from expert consultation to complete turnkey solutions, positioning us as the one-stop shop for school furniture and equipment.

You will turn those opportunities into sales. From discovery and quoting through follow-up and closing, you will own a portfolio designed to generate first-year earnings of $70,000 to $85,000.

Once trained in our Consultative Sales Model, you will:

  • Turn inbound customer demand into completed sales by actively managing leads from phone calls, chats, online forms, quote requests, email inquiries, marketing activities, existing customers, and other assigned sources.
  • Take ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through order placement, improving quote-to-order conversion and overall close rates.
  • Confidently ask for the order, create appropriate urgency, and identify opportunities to increase value through products, services, installation, delivery, contracts, and other School Outfitters solutions.
  • Recommend solutions that align with customer requirements, address barriers to purchase, and provide value beyond the initial inquiry.
  • Maintain consistent, purposeful follow-up until the opportunity is won, lost, or appropriately dispositioned.
  • Prioritize sales activity based on opportunity value, customer intent, likelihood to purchase, timing, and sales potential.
  • Create exceptional value and service that builds loyalty; our inside sales team generates customer retention representing up to 40% of booked sales.
  • Use HubSpot CRM to transact quickly, maintain visibility into the full pipeline, and efficiently advance opportunities through the quote pipeline.
  • Sell proactively by routinely calling customers to check in, uncover future needs, learn about upcoming projects, and earn referrals.

What We’ll Teach You

  • Our consultative sales process, including discovery, quoting, follow-up, objection handling, and closing.
  • Product and solution knowledge across school furniture, equipment, installation, delivery, and contracts.
  • How the K-12 education market buys, and how to serve educators and school districts.
  • HubSpot CRM, pipeline management, and the tools you need to prioritize and advance opportunities.
  • Ongoing coaching and feedback from experienced sales leaders as you build your skills.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree, recently completed or nearing completion. Majors in business, marketing, sales, and communications are a plus.
  • No sales experience required. Internships, part-time jobs, customer service roles, athletics, or campus leadership that show drive and results are valued.
  • Competitive and goal-oriented, with a desire to win and be rewarded for results.
  • Coachable and curious—eager to learn, ask good questions, and quickly apply feedback.
  • Resilient and persistent, with the ability to bounce back from a “no” and keep moving forward.
  • Confident, clear verbal and written communication; comfortable picking up the phone and building rapport with customers.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Strong sense of urgency and personal accountability for results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, customer-focused sales environment.
  • Comfortable with technology; experience with AI tools a plus.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Work from home on Fridays.
  • No weekends or holidays.
