About this role
Sass & SEO | Remote, US-based | California preferred$25 to $30/hour | Approximately 10 to 15 hours per weekIndividual applicants only. No agencies or outsourced teams.
About the role
Have ideas for content and the skills to make it yourself? We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, from figuring out what to post to creating it and hitting publish.
Sass & SEO helps service-based businesses build better marketing systems and campaigns. We have expertise, opinions, footage, and client stories to share. We need a creative person who can turn those into a social presence with a clear point of view.
You’ll own creative direction and day-to-day content production for our business and selected client accounts. That includes pitching ideas, building the calendar, editing reels, designing graphics, writing captions, and managing publishing.
What you’ll own
- Creative direction: Develop a distinct look, voice, and content approach for each assigned brand.
- Content ideas: Pitch reel concepts, carousels, recurring series, and relevant trends worth trying.
- The calendar: Plan content around business priorities, offers, campaigns, and available production time.
- Video editing: Turn supplied footage into engaging reels with strong hooks, pacing, captions, and intentional graphics.
- Graphic design: Create polished carousels, static posts, and supporting social assets.
- Copy: Write hooks, captions, on-screen text, and calls to action that sound like the brand.
- Account management: Schedule and publish content on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, adapting it for each platform.
- Performance: Review results and use what you learn to guide future content.
- Creative coordination: Identify what footage, information, or approvals you need and keep production moving.
You may also create variations for paid-social campaigns. Email graphics, email copy, and sales-page design are welcome bonus skills, but they aren’t required.
How we’ll work together
We’ll provide business priorities, brand context, access to expertise, and feedback. You’ll bring ideas, make creative decisions, and handle the work needed to get content out the door.
You won’t need every post spelled out for you, but you also won’t be expected to guess at offers, claims, or business strategy. We’ll agree on direction and approval checkpoints so you can move confidently.
The initial account roster and posting volume will be set to fit the available hours. This role focuses on content and publishing; customer support inboxes, media buying, and SEO are outside the core responsibilities.
What we’re looking for
- A portfolio showing both short-form video editing and graphic design.
- Strong instincts for hooks, storytelling, typography, layout, and pacing.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, including how content should differ across them.
- The ability to develop ideas and carry them through to finished work.
- Clear, natural writing that can adapt to different brands.
- Good organization, dependable communication, and follow-through.
- Comfort receiving direct feedback and explaining your creative choices.
Early-career applicants are welcome. Personal projects, your own social accounts, and freelance work all count if they demonstrate your skills. You don’t need a particular degree or a long résumé.
Use the design and editing tools you do your best work in. We require organized, editable source files alongside final assets.
Our approach to AI
We welcome AI for brainstorming, transcription, research, copy assistance, and making repetitive tasks easier.
The finished creative needs your hands-on design and editing. We expect deliberate choices around graphics, typography, pacing, transitions, and brand treatment. Random AI-generated imagery and one-click generated reels aren’t what we’re looking for.
Why this could be a good fit
You’ll have room to pitch ideas, shape the creative, and see your work published. You’ll get direct feedback, exposure to different businesses, and opportunities to build your portfolio with prior approval.
Scheduling is flexible, with agreed deadlines and scheduled collaboration during Pacific business hours. We value thoughtful work and reliable delivery, not being online all day.
We’re looking for someone who wants to build a consistent working relationship and get to know the brands over time.
Hours and pay
Pay is $25 to $30/hour, depending on your portfolio and relevant experience. We anticipate approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, with hours and priorities agreed in advance.
We’ll begin with a small paid project so both sides can assess the fit before moving into ongoing work.
