We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Information Technology team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the role of Software Developer,you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Develop clean, testable code for web and mobile interfaces, APIs, services, and databases in accordance with established standards. Use AI tools appropriately to improve development speed and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, write automated tests, and improve application performance with guidance from senior team members.
  • Partner with the Product Technical Lead and Senior Developers to deliver scalable, maintainable features aligned with technical direction and business goals.
  • Collaborate with the product team to understand user needs, and participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and code reviews.
  • Support integration, deployment, and production operations, including occasional after-hours support for critical incidents, urgent issues, and scheduled deployments.
  • Other duties as assigned

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of software development experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), C#, .NET or .NET Core, Angular, and databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to design and implement well-structured, scalable web services and front ends, with practical knowledge of using AI to support development work.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of testing practices and techniques, with the ability to learn and work across different programming languages, frameworks, and design patterns.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
