Journeyman Software Developer

**Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company,** is seeking a **Journeyman Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD. ** The Journeyman Software Developer will support mission\-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands\-on development experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.

**Position Type:** Full\-Time

**Salary:** $110k\-$125k annually (depending upon experience)

**Work Location:** Onsite at Patuxent River, MD.

**Essential Functions**

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices
• Write clean, efficient, and well\-documented code in C\+\+ and other object\-oriented languages
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand\-ups, and retrospectives
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance
• Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions
• Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality
• Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing
• Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities

**Requirements** **Required:**

• Experience developing in C\+\+.
• Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications.

**Desired:**

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of JMPS/NOMS.
• Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
• Experience with web development frameworks (React, Flask, Spring Boot).

**Education / Experience:**

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Engineering field (required) and 3\-10 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development required.

**Security Clearance:**

Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
