Graphic Designer & Photographer

Location: Laguna Beach, CA — full-time, in office

Reports To: Ownership / Senior Executive Team

Full-time, in office, Laguna Beach. Product photography and brand design for high-end rare coins and Napa Valley wine. Portfolio required.

Job Summary

The Contursi family is hiring a Graphic Designer & Photographer to own the look of our businesses. This is a hands-on studio, design, and campaign role — not a remote “make a Canva post” job.

You will photograph rare coins and wine, shoot company and marketing images, then use design and current tools (including AI) to turn that work into finished campaigns and physical collateral.

You will work with the marketing team to design and execute outreach campaigns, and you will protect the visual standard across all brands so every site, email, social post, ad, printed piece, and in-hand leave-behind looks consistent and high-end.

This is a small family team. You will work directly with ownership and marketing, see your work go live quickly, and be treated as a person — not a widget in a large corporation.

Businesses you will support

  • S.L. Contursi — family office / parent company www.slcontursi.com
  • Rare Coin Wholesalers — high-end U.S. rare coins www.rarecoinwholesalers.com
  • Arrow&Branch — luxury Napa Valley wine brand www.arrowandbranch.com
  • Arrow&Branch Winery — Napa Valley winery and hospitality www.arrowandbranchwinery.com
  • Arrow&Branch Rare Coins — U.S. rare coin investment firm www.arrowandbranchrarecoins.com

Key Responsibilities

Photography

  • Photograph rare coins (including certified/slabbed coins) with accurate color, sharp detail, and clean backgrounds
  • Photograph wine bottles, labels, cases, cellar/winery settings, and product stills
  • Shoot company, team, event, and marketing images as needed
  • Light and style product shots so they look premium, not catalog-generic
  • Edit photos: color correction, retouching, background cleanup, compositing, and crop for web, print, and social
  • Build and maintain a simple photo library so assets are easy to find and reuse

Graphic design and physical collateral

  • Design digital and print materials: emails, social posts, ads, lookbooks, sell sheets, presentation decks, website graphics, and event signage
  • Create physical collateral such as brochures, catalogs, one-pagers, packaging support, hang tags, menus, tasting cards, invitation suites, folders, banners, and trade-show or tasting-room pieces
  • Prepare print-ready files, manage specs with printers, and review proofs so color and finish match the brand
  • Keep brand style consistent across coins, wine, winery, and family-company materials
  • Create templates so recurring campaigns and collateral stay on brand
  • Review and improve existing creative that no longer matches the current standard

Campaigns, social, and current tools

  • Work with the marketing team to design and execute outreach campaigns from concept through finished assets
  • Own the visual style of campaigns across email, social, web, paid ads, print mailings, and in-person materials
  • Stay current on social platforms and produce assets that fit those formats (feed, stories, short-video stills, thumbnails, carousels)
  • Use AI and other current tools to speed concepting, retouching, variations, and production — without lowering quality
  • Support campaign calendars with on-time design and photography
  • Light video/photo support for social when needed (short clips, product motion, event coverage)

What Success Looks Like

  • Coin and wine photos look museum/luxury quality
  • Campaigns and printed pieces look like one family of brands.
  • Marketing can launch outreach without waiting on unfinished or off-brand creative
  • Physical collateral is print-ready, accurate, and feels as premium as the products
  • You flag weak visuals and fix them instead of pushing through average work

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven portfolio in both graphic design and photography (product photography required)
  • Examples of print/physical collateral as well as digital campaign work
  • Strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign). After Effects or Premiere a plus
  • Experience photographing reflective or high-detail objects (jewelry, watches, glass, bottles, coins, or similar)
  • Ability to retouch and composite at a professional level
  • Understanding of print production (bleeds, color, paper, finishes, vendor proofs)
  • Working knowledge of current social formats and campaign production
  • Comfortable using AI tools for design and photo workflows
  • Able to partner with marketing, take direction from ownership, and still bring a point of view
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable in a small in-office team
  • Based in / able to work full-time in Laguna Beach, with occasional travel to Napa Valley for winery shoots

Nice to Have

  • Luxury, wine, collectibles, jewelry, or high-end retail experience
  • Web/e-commerce asset production (Shopify or similar)
  • Direct-mail, catalog, or invitation design
  • Basic motion/short-form video
  • Experience building a simple DAM or photo-library system from scratch

What We Offer

  • Full-time, in-office role in Laguna Beach
  • Direct access to ownership and close work with the marketing team
  • Variety: coins, wine, winery, events, campaigns, and print
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and portfolio
  • Benefits, PTO, and professional development
  • A small family team where good work is seen

About the Company

S. L. Contursi is a Laguna Beach–based family company with more than fifty years in business.

The work spans high-end U. S. rare coins and small-production Napa Valley wine, including a winery and hospitality operation.

Across every line, the focus is the top of the market rather than volume: museum-quality coins, pedigreed vineyard sites, and limited-production wines. It is a small team, and the visual work for these businesses needs to match that standard.

How to Apply

Please submit a resume and portfolio. Portfolio should include: (1) product photos of small reflective or high-detail objects, (2) bottle or packaging shots, (3) at least one print/physical collateral piece, and (4) one campaign or social design example.

Pay: $75,000. 00 - $100,000. 00 per year

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Retirement plan

Work Location: In person
