About us

For more than 65 years, Rivard Stone has produced and supplied natural stone and construction materials for builders, landscapers and commercial projects across the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin. Through St. Croix Monument, we also design, make, sell and install custom monuments.

The role

Report directly to the owners and own the accounting for a growing company: the monthly close and financial statements, cash flow, and a $1 million-plus inventory in more than 1,000 categories. You’ll see the whole business, not one piece of it.

What you’ll do

• AR and AP: invoicing (including progress billing), payments, statements, collections, and check runs for owner approval
• Monthly close, reconciliations and monthly financial statements
• Purchasing, plus inventory updates and counts reconciled to the general ledger
• Wisconsin and Minnesota sales tax, including customer tax setup
• Payroll information to our provider, timeclock and new-hire reporting
• Cash flow forecasts, budgets, a weekly scorecard, and reports for our bank and outside accountant
• Analytical projects with the owners on costs, margins and investment returns
• Insurance audits, license and permit renewals, and records

What you bring

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 1–5 years of accounting experience, including month-end close
• Strong Excel skills: formulas, lookups and pivot tables, plus building clear tables and presentations of financial information for the owners
• A plus: inventory accounting experience and Certiflex Dimensions or similar software
