Job description

About this role

Rise48 Equity is a vertically integrated multifamily real estate investment firm headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since 2019 we have completed more than $2.6 billion in transactions across 65-plus assets and 12,000-plus units in high-growth Sun Belt markets. We manage our portfolio through an in-house construction, property management, and asset management platform, and we employ roughly 300 people across five states.

Position Summary

The Fund Accountant keeps the books for the third-party fund-of-funds entities that raise capital for Rise48 Equity. You will own the financial records for more than 200 of these entities, the corporate entity that supports their capital raises, and our corporate fund entities across Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Entrata.

You will onboard new fund-of-funds clients, release monthly distributions through our investor portal, and keep every entity’s records and cap tables current. Each January, your year-end statements and cap tables become the foundation for K-1s issued to more than 3,000 investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and supporting documentation for 200+ fund-of-funds entities in Xero, the capital-raise entity in QuickBooks Online, and the corporate fund entities in Entrata.
  • Reconcile every entity’s accounts monthly, investigating reconciling items and correcting errors at the source.
  • Request bank statements from fund managers each month and follow up on the documented schedule in Spearcrest until they are received or escalated.
  • Serve as the back-office contact for fund managers, resolving their open questions and outstanding items.
  • Onboard new fund-of-funds clients — invoice and collect payment, deliver final capital-raise analytics, and build investor cap tables and distribution templates.
  • Prepare and release monthly distributions through the investor portal — to GPs and broker-dealers on the 1st and to fund managers mid-month.
  • Keep investor cap tables current for every entity as capital and ownership change.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and deliver them, with cap tables, to the tax team by January 31, then support their questions through K-1 issuance.
  • Support the corporate accounting team with month-end and project work as needed, once fund-entity work is current.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional accounting experience.
  • Three or more years of general ledger accounting experience, including account reconciliations.
  • A track record of managing many clients or entities at once and following open items through to completion.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with external clients.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Multi-entity real estate or fund accounting experience.
  • Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online, or Entrata.

Compensation & Benefits

$70,000 – $80,000 base salary. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a 401(k) with company match. On-site at our Scottsdale, Arizona headquarters.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
