Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Citrix, VDI & End User Services)
Job Location : Austin TX (onsite role – All 5 days)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the End User Services Citrix Engineering team. This individual will serve as a senior technical engineer responsible for the design, engineering, automation, optimization, and operational support of a global Citrix and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment.
The ideal candidate has deep experience across Citrix Cloud, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Windows desktop engineering, Azure-hosted VDI, VMware virtualization, authentication technologies, profile management, monitoring, and automation.
This role requires a practical engineering mindset, strong ownership, excellent communication, and the ability to convert recurring operational pain points into repeatable automation and measurable platform improvements.

Citrix Architecture & Engineering]]
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale Citrix environments.
Engineer and support Citrix Cloud DaaS platforms.
Manage Citrix Cloud Connectors, Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Workspace, Director, licensing, and supporting infrastructure.
Design and optimize global VDI solutions supporting office workers, developers, traders, and high-performance user populations.
Lead platform modernization initiatives, lifecycle upgrades, and technical standards development.
Participate in roadmap planning for VDI, desktop, and end user computing technologies.
Cloud VDI Engineering
Design and support Azure-based VDI and related cloud desktop platforms.
Implement and optimize image management strategies, provisioning models, and capacity plans.
Improve platform resiliency, regional readiness, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Evaluate emerging cloud desktop capabilities and recommend adoption where appropriate.
Windows Desktop Engineering
Engineer Windows 10 and Windows 11 enterprise desktop platforms for physical and virtual endpoints.
Maintain gold image standards, desktop lifecycle processes, and image drift controls.
Integrate enterprise applications into VDI and physical desktop environments.
Develop configuration standards, hardening baselines, Group Policy standards, and operating procedures.
Troubleshoot complex user experience, application, logon, and performance issues.
Profile & User Experience Management
Engineer and optimize user profile solutions, including FSLogix, Citrix profile, Standard Windows roaming profile technologies where applicable.
Improve user logon performance, session stability, personalization reliability, and roaming configuration behavior.
Maintain user experience metrics and performance benchmarks for VDI and desktop platforms.
Incident, Problem & Escalation Management
Provide Tier 3 and Tier 4 escalation support for Citrix, VDI, Windows desktop, and user experience issues.
Lead complex outage investigations and drive root cause analysis.
Coordinate with Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Nutanix, and other vendors as needed.
Produce clear technical summaries, executive incident updates, and corrective action plans.
PowerShell Scripting, Automation & Engineering Development
Automation is a core requirement for this role. The engineer must be able to design, build, support, and improve production-grade automation that reduces manual effort, improves reliability, increases auditability, and gives leadership better operational visibility.
Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise PowerShell automation solutions.
Automate repetitive administrative tasks across Citrix, Windows, Active Directory, VMware, Azure, Microsoft 365, and monitoring platforms.
Develop self-healing workflows and automated remediation processes for known recurring issues.
Create automated reporting for operational metrics, compliance, capacity planning, user experience, and executive dashboards.
Build automated health validation and environment assessment tooling for Citrix, VDI, desktop, and supporting infrastructure.
Integrate automation with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, Citrix APIs, VMware PowerCLI, Azure modules, and enterprise monitoring platforms.
Develop reusable automation frameworks that can be leveraged across EUS and Infrastructure Engineering teams.
Use source control, peer review, structured logging, error handling, and documentation standards for all production automation.
Support the automation they build, including troubleshooting failures, improving resiliency, and retiring obsolete scripts.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools where appropriate while maintaining engineering review, security, and quality controls.

Experience Requirements
Required Experience
8+ years of Windows infrastructure or end user computing engineering experience.
8+ years supporting enterprise Citrix environments.
5+ years supporting large-scale VDI deployments.
5+ years developing and supporting production-grade PowerShell automation.
Experience supporting environments with thousands of users across multiple regions.
Experience leading major infrastructure, desktop, VDI, or cloud transformation projects.
Experience with source control, peer review, structured logging, and automation support lifecycle practices.
Strong incident response, problem management, and RCA experience.
Preferred Experience
Citrix Cloud, Microsoft Azure, VMware, or related platform certifications.
Experience in financial services or another highly regulated enterprise environment.
Experience supporting trader, developer, or high-performance virtual desktop use cases.
