Job Description

Ricochet POS is seeking a Point-of-Sale Software Developer to help develop, maintain, and enhance software for retail and consignment businesses. The ideal candidate will have experience building web-based applications, integrating payment systems, managing inventory data, and developing reliable software features that improve daily business operations.

This role focuses on developing and improving point-of-sale functionality, inventory management tools, customer account features, reporting systems, and third-party integrations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with technical and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain point-of-sale software and web applications.
• Build and improve features for sales transactions, refunds, discounts, and receipts.
• Develop inventory management, customer account, and consignor management functionality.
• Integrate payment processing services and third-party business applications.
• Design and maintain APIs, database queries, and data-processing functions.
• Troubleshoot software defects and improve application performance.
• Support integrations between retail systems and online storefronts.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and software releases.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow coding standards.
• Collaborate with product, customer support, and engineering teams to improve the user experience.

Required Skills

• Experience in software development or web application engineering.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and modern web development technologies.
• Understanding of APIs, database design, and SQL.
• Familiarity with application testing, debugging, and version control.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React, Node.js, or comparable development technologies.
• Understanding of accounting integrations, reporting systems, and e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with automated testing and continuous integration tools.
