Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our development team. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications. You will collaborate with other engineers to implement innovative solutions, provide technical guidance to our development team, and ensure that the software meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Candidates should possess good analytical skills, display an aptitude for problem solving, and a deep desire to continue growing as developers. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness to research and remain current in programming standards and practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Upgrade, develop, and integrate existing code
• Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
• Review software frequently and make any adjustments necessary to keep them running well and up to date
• Work in a small Agile team environment to accomplish long-term goals
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
• Experience with LLMs and AI development methodologies a plus
• Collaborate with peers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications
• Troubleshoot, debug, and correct for software bugs in live production environment
• Use approved code libraries to simplify the writing of code
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong back-end development skills with Java
• Experience with C#/.Net or other similar programing languages and framework
• Suitable educational background and Experience in the field
• Experience with code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito
• Experience with SQL Databases (SQL/Stored Procedures, ORM tools)
• Experience with modern JavaScript Frameworks
• Familiarity with Scripting and working in a Linux environment,
• Familiarity with Design Patterns and their uses
• Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ is a plus
• Familiarity with secure coding standards, dependency management and vulnerability remediation
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills
• Version control (GIT)
• Experience working with legacy application modernization projects is a plus
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Machine learning and Python knowledge is a plus

Education/Experience

• Professional Development experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in related field preferred

Environmental Conditions

Indoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise level

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories).
