About this role
Job Summary
As our Mechanical Engineer, you’ll own equipment design and fabrication projects, from understanding what a grower needs to delivering a machine that works in the field. You’ll be the technical voice in customer conversations and bring fresh ideas to how our products are designed and built.
This role suits an engineer who wants real ownership early in their career. You’ll work closely with company leadership and see your designs built in the shop and used on working farms.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop agricultural equipment, including no-till drills, sprayers, tilt trailers and custom builds.
- Turn customer requirements into practical designs, drawings and specifications for fabrication.
- Work with the shop team to fabricate, test and refine prototypes and production equipment.
- Meet with customers to understand their operations, explain design options and keep projects on track.
- Manage custom design projects from scope through delivery, meeting contract timelines.
- Bring new ideas to improve product performance, durability and manufacturability.
- Support service and parts teams with technical expertise and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate drawings, bills of materials and design documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design, fabrication or manufacturing (internships and co-ops count).
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Hands-on understanding of fabrication processes, including welding, machining and assembly.
- Confidence working directly with customers: listening well, explaining technical ideas clearly and building trust.
- Initiative and independent thinking, with a track record of proposing and following through on new ideas.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work on-site in Clarkston, WA.
Nice to Have
- Farm, agricultural or heavy-equipment experience.
- Familiarity with precision-ag technology, hydraulics or spray systems.
- Experience in a small manufacturing or custom fabrication shop.
- Experience leading or coordinating the work of others.
- Roots in or familiarity with the Palouse or Lewis-Clark Valley.
- Proficiency with AI
About Us
Founded in 1987 in the Palouse and based in Clarkston, Washington, we design, build, and sell agricultural equipment for Pacific Northwest farms. Our lineup includes no-till conservation drills, sprayers, and custom-designed equipment, along with precision-ag products and replacement parts.
We serve growers through equipment sales, an online parts store and custom design projects, all backed by hands-on service and support. It is a small, close-knit team where engineering work goes straight from the drawing board to the field.
