We’re hiring a Senior Java Platform Engineer to build a large-scale developer platform for a leading global investment bank. The platform automates software remediation across thousands of repositories — identifying vulnerable dependencies, updating code, running changes through CI/CD, and generating validated pull requests. This is a
hands-on backend/platform engineering role
, not a traditional CRUD position.
What You'll Do
- Build
Java 21 / Spring Boot
services and APIs
- Design scalable
distributed backend systems
- Build automation around
Maven, Gradle, Git and CI/CD
- Run services and automated workloads on
Kubernetes / AWS
- Develop tooling for dependency upgrades and code remediation
- Work with technologies such as
OpenRewrite, Renovate and SBOM/security scanning
- Own solutions from design through production
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on
Java / Spring Boot
experience
- Experience with
backend services, microservices or distributed systems
- Strong understanding of
Core Java, concurrency and performance
- Experience with
Maven or Gradle
- Experience with
Kubernetes, containers and CI/CD
- Strong debugging and software design skills
Useful, but not required
- OpenRewrite or Renovate
- Developer tooling / platform engineering
- Vulnerability management or application security
- AWS
- Banking or financial services
- AI/LLM integrations
