About this role

Build the growth engine of a fast-growing company.

Raven Rocks Precision has grown fast on rare products and great prices. What we haven't had is someone who owns marketing and SEO full time. That's this job.

You'll build our marketing and SEO engine, set the plan, create much of the content yourself and own the numbers. If you want your work to show up directly in a company's growth, and to grow with it, read on.

Pay: $70,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience

Schedule: Full-time, in person at our Stafford County warehouse

Benefits: Health insurance, paid time off and holidays, 401(k)

Reports to: Co-owner and COO

Target start: January 2027

ABOUT US

Raven Rocks Precision is a family-owned online retailer and wholesale distributor of reloading components, including bullets, brass, primers, and powder, based in Stafford County, Virginia. Since 2022 we've built direct relationships with manufacturers to bring customers Rare Finds and Remarkable Savings.

We are the only Nosler OEM Master Distributor east of the Rockies, and we import specialty brands such as Woodleigh and CAMPRO.

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

  • You build it, not just run it. This is a new seat, built around marketing and SEO together. The plan, the calendar and the strategy are yours to shape.
  • A direct line to the owners. You'll join our weekly team meeting, help set quarterly goals and work directly with the owners. Good ideas get decided in days, not months.
  • Stories that never run out. Our inventory changes every week, with rare finds, factory deals and premium lines from manufacturers we work with directly. There's always something new to launch.
  • Organic growth is the whole game. Most paid ad platforms don't allow ammunition components, so our growth comes from email, search, content, and social. If you love proving what organic marketing can do, this is the place.
  • Your results show up in sales. Success is measured in revenue and search traffic, not likes. Every month you'll present your results and your next plan.
  • Room to grow with us. As the business grows, this seat grows with it, through wholesale marketing, new channels, and more hands on the team. Bring us a special project and the case for it, and you can lead it.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • A monthly SEO and content plan: build it, put it live on the site, measure it, and present the results with next month's plan. The goal is search traffic that moves product.
  • SEO on the website: keyword research, category and landing page copy, buying guides, internal links and Yoast optimization, tracked in Google Search Console and GA4.
  • Product page standards: set the SEO standard and check pages against it each month.
  • How we sell: our merchandising lead decides what we sell and when, and you decide how we sell it. Together you'll build campaigns for new arrivals, closeouts and sale events.
  • The marketing calendar: weekly and monthly plans across email, social media and the website.
  • Email in Klaviyo: campaigns, segments and automated flows, up to 7 sends a week.
  • Content: a monthly session with our co-owner and product expert, turned into emails, posts, videos and articles.
  • Visuals: you'll shoot product photos in our lightbox and short videos in the warehouse.
  • Our virtual assistant, who builds emails and edits social content from your briefs.

YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS

  • Days 1 to 30: learn our products, customers and tools; audit our SEO and email; take over product photos and video.
  • Days 31 to 60: present your first monthly SEO and content plan, and set our product page SEO standard.
  • Days 61 to 90: present your first monthly results with the next plan, run the weekly calendar, and build your first automated email flows.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3+ years in e-commerce marketing, digital marketing, or SEO, with results you can show in numbers: organic traffic, email revenue, conversion.
  • Hands-on SEO: keyword research, on-page optimization, Google Search Console and GA4.
  • Email marketing in Klaviyo or a similar platform, including segments and automated flows.
  • Hands-on content skills: product photos, short-form video and clear, accurate copy.
  • Experience planning and running a content calendar across email, social and web.
  • Comfort working in WordPress/WooCommerce or a similar e-commerce platform.
  • The ability to direct an assistant and work closely with a merchandising partner.
  • An owner's mindset: you set the plan, track the numbers, and don't wait to be told.
  • Ability to work on site at our Stafford County warehouse.

USEFUL, BUT NOT EXPECTED

  • Marketing in a category where paid ads are restricted, such as firearms, ammunition, alcohol, or supplements.
  • Experience improving visibility in AI search tools, such as ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews.
  • Knowledge of shooting, hunting or reloading. Many strong candidates for this role will be new to the shooting world, and we'll teach you the products.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) plan
  • A direct line to the owners and a voice in quarterly planning
  • Freedom to pitch and lead special projects that grow the business

HOW TO APPLY
