Registered Nurse - Operating Room and Perioperative Care

Duties

• Perform patient assessments, monitor and document vital signs during surgery and recognize changes that require escalation.
• Administer medications during surgery
• Provide triage, emergency response, infection control, and patient education; follow aseptic technique and privacy requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Coordinate intake, case management, discharge planning, and medical documentation; maintain accurate medical records in electronic health record (EHR)
• Ensure patients are ready for surgery: Check clearances, Review instructions and answer any questions related to surgery
• Assist with patient transfers
• Circulate in OR
• Recover patients
• Order and maintain drug inventory, replace expired medications

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license required; meet applicable state requirements and maintain ACLS certification
• Demonstrated nursing knowledge, patient assessment skills, and understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Experience with patient care, medication administration, medical documentation, and EMR/EHR systems preferred
• Relevant experience: wound care, suture removal, plastic surgery experience a plus

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 – 22.5 per week
