QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer, Network Architect to join our team at APG, MD to support our customer, Project Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing the network infrastructure supporting Army Intelligence systems.

This role is responsible for creating comprehensive architectural documentation, diagnosing network performance issues, and engineering robust solutions to ensure uninterrupted, high-speed data flow across the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN-A) and intelligence networks.

Duties:

  • Architecture Documentation: Map, document, and maintain accurate "As-Is" and "To-Be" network architectures for Army Intel systems. Ensure all technical and operational viewpoints strictly comply with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards.
  • Bottleneck Identification & Analysis: Utilize advanced network management and packet-level analysis tools to continuously monitor traffic patterns with our network providers. Identify bandwidth limitations, latency issues, and structural bottlenecks within tactical and strategic intelligence networks.
  • Solution Engineering: Design, test, and propose scalable network enhancements to resolve identified bottlenecks. Develop contingency plans, alternate routing strategies, and technical specifications for infrastructure upgrades to guarantee maximum system availability and capability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), hardware engineering teams, and key intelligence stakeholders. Translate complex network constraints into actionable requirements and coordinate the integration of modernized network solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in network systems engineering, topology recreation, and enterprise architecture management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in capacity planning, bottleneck isolation, and performance optimization for large-scale, distributed networks.
  • Deep understanding of Army and DoD network regulations (e.g., AR 25-1) and the technical realities of operating within secure, high-stakes intelligence environments.
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to brief senior military leadership and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Experience working with user representatives, and Army and Joint programs to develop and execute interoperability testing between systems.
  • Experience with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance software systems.
  • Experience in design, integration, configuration, and analysis of complex software systems, military electronics, computer networking, and digital and graphic display systems. Includes direct experience with Department of Defense System Engineering processes.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret w/SCI eligibly

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree may be in Electrical, Electronic, System, Software or Computer Engineering; Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least twelve (12) years of related experience required.

Travel

Less than 25*%* travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment

This position will be co-located with the customer and other contractors in Government office spaces.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.

Estimated Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for fully qualified candidates for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors.
