Job Title: Data Engineer, Senior

City: REMOTE

Job Summary

---------------

Senior Data Engineer | Purdue IT | Remote for the right person

This is an exciting time to join our team as we modernize Purdue’s enterprise data environment, including our transition to Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and our exploration of AI-enabled approaches to data integration, automation, data quality, and development.

We are looking for someone who thrives with autonomy and ownership. The successful candidate will be expected to learn our systems and processes, take ownership of their area, and continually look for ways to make it better. We value people who are curious, take initiative, challenge existing approaches when appropriate, and bring forward ideas rather than waiting to be told what to do.

This role provides an opportunity not only to work with modern technologies, but also to influence how we use them and help shape the next generation of Purdue’s data ecosystem.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership throughout the BI development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. You’ll develop data extracts, ETL processes, and summarization routines while helping maintain and optimize Purdue’s enterprise data warehouses and integrations.

As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate with customers and IT colleagues to solve complex data and programming challenges, improve system performance and interoperability, and ensure solutions are reliable, well-documented, and built using established development practices.

If you enjoy turning complex data challenges into dependable solutions and want your work to support Purdue’s academic, research, and operational mission, this is an opportunity to make an impact at enterprise scale.

A cover letter is required for consideration.
