Position Summary

Yavapai Landscaping is looking for a bilingual English–Spanish Accountant to manage the monthly close, prepare financial reports, and help leadership understand how jobs are performing financially. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently in QuickBooks Online and explain financial results clearly to both office and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and review of general ledger balances.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts. Investigate discrepancies and document corrections.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and explain significant changes in revenue, expenses, and job margins to leadership.
• Track labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs by job. Work with operations to resolve coding issues and compare actual costs with budgets.
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries for accuracy and resolve items that affect the close.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for year-end reporting and coordinate requests from external accountants.
• Communicate in English and Spanish with office staff, field teams, and vendors to resolve billing, expense, and job-cost questions.

Required Qualifications

• Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Experience independently handling month-end close tasks and preparing financial statements.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies and explain financial results clearly.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Prescott, Arizona.

Preferred Qualifications

• Accounting experience in landscaping, construction, or another business that tracks costs by job.
• Experience with job costing, budget-to-actual reporting, or project profitability analysis.
• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

What Success Looks Like

• The books close on schedule, and key accounts are reconciled with clear supporting documentation.
• Leadership receives reliable monthly financial reports and understands what is driving changes in results.
• Job costs are coded accurately, and margin or budget issues are flagged early enough for the operations team to act.
