**Full Stack Software Developer — PHP / Web Applications**

**Position Overview**

We are seeking a **Full Stack Software Developer** to support the development and maintenance of our proprietary web\-based **electronic data capture (eDC) application** and related systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining **PHP/MySQL web applications** and be comfortable working with an existing production codebase. Responsibilities include developing customizations and enhancements, troubleshooting application issues, maintaining existing functionality, and supporting application modernization.

Because our software supports clinical research, experience with **secure application development and validated/regulated systems** is highly desirable.

**Technology Environment**

**Required Qualifications**

• **1\+ year of professional PHP web development experience**; 3\+ years preferred.
• Strong **SQL/MySQL** experience, including relational database concepts, normalization, foreign keys, views, joins, and complex queries.
• Experience with **Git** or another version\-control system.
• Strong working knowledge of **HTML, JavaScript, and CSS**.
• Experience developing and working with **REST APIs** and web\-based services.
• Demonstrated experience **debugging and maintaining existing production web applications**, including front\-end and back\-end troubleshooting.
• Ability to understand an unfamiliar codebase, identify the source of problems, and implement well\-controlled changes.
• Good understanding of **web application security and secure coding practices**.

**Preferred Qualifications**

**Web Development \& Tools**

• Experience with **Composer and npm** dependency management.
• Experience with **Webpack** or similar JavaScript bundlers.
• Experience with the **Twig templating engine**.
• Experience using **Chrome Developer Tools, PHP Xdebug, application/server logs, and browser network tools** for application troubleshooting.
• Experience **modernizing legacy PHP applications or migrating applications to newer frameworks/architectures**.

**Linux / AWS**

• Experience working in a **Linux/LAMP environment**, including Apache/httpd, PHP/PHP\-FPM, SSH, and basic Linux troubleshooting.
• Experience working in **AWS cloud environments**, with familiarity with services such as **EC2, RDS, S3, FSx, ALB, IAM, Systems Manager (SSM), and CodeCommit**.

**Validated / Regulated Systems**

• Experience working within a **controlled SDLC for validated or GxP\-regulated systems**, including requirements, risk assessments, requirements\-to\-test traceability, documented testing, IQ/OQ or equivalent qualification activities, defect/deviation management, change control, and controlled releases.
• Working knowledge of **21 CFR Part 11**, particularly electronic records, electronic signatures, audit trails, access controls, data integrity, and controlled system changes.

**Bonus Experience**

• Experience working in **clinical research, pharmaceutical, CRO, or other regulated environments**.
• Familiarity with **SAS** (Statistical Analysis System) or clinical research data.
• Experience with **AI\-assisted software development or LLM/AI APIs**.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Develop and maintain **PHP\-based web applications**, including customizations, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Troubleshoot issues across the **front\-end, back\-end, database, and supporting infrastructure**.
• Write and modify **SQL queries and database functionality**.
• Participate in **code review and source\-control processes**.
• Support **application modernization efforts**.
• Follow established **security, testing, documentation, and change\-control procedures**.
• Support testing and documentation associated with changes to **validated systems**.
• Collaborate with **Development, IT, Data Management, Quality Assurance, and other technical personnel/stakeholders**.
