Job Description
TechConsultCo is seeking an experienced SDET / Automation Engineer (Retail POS) to join an in-person engagement in Manhattan Beach, CA. In this role, you will design, develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for retail point-of-sale (POS) applications, ensuring high-quality releases across POS functionality, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.
You will work closely with development, QA, and business stakeholders to identify defects early, improve test coverage, and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts for retail POS applications.
- Design and execute automated test cases to validate POS functionality, integrations, and business workflows.
- Perform functional, regression, and end-to-end testing across retail applications.
- Troubleshoot automation failures, analyze test results, and improve test coverage and reliability.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to identify defects and ensure quality releases.
- Maintain automation frameworks, test data, and execution processes.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster feedback cycles.
- Validate retail transactions, payment flows, and customer-facing POS experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET roles.
- Strong experience in automation script development and ongoing maintenance.
- Proven experience creating and executing automated test scripts for enterprise applications.
- Hands-on knowledge of UI automation and API testing.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective automation solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with the Aptos Retail POS platform.
- Prior in-person retail POS testing experience.
- Experience testing retail store applications and transaction workflows.
- Familiarity with payment processing and retail integrations.
- Experience designing, optimizing, or scaling automation frameworks.
- Experience supporting large-scale retail implementations.
