We're looking for a collaborative leader who can develop the team and strengthen accounting processes that keep financial reporting accurate and on track.

  • Based primarily at the Corporate Headquarters office in south Austin, TX.
  • Must be located in the Austin, TX metro area.

Benefits

Include:

  • Annual bonus opportunity up to 8%.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% employer-paid premiums for Employee Only plans.
  • 401(k) with company match up to 6%, with pre-tax and Roth options, and 100% immediate vesting upon eligibility.
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability, plus additional voluntary benefit options.
  • 21 days of PTO each year, in addition to all federal holidays.

Our areas of expertise are wide and diverse; total facilities maintenance, hospital environmental services, custodial and grounds, disability awareness training, job coaching, and job placement are just a few. We integrate people with disabilities and veterans into meaningful jobs with competitive wages and benefits. Serving people of all abilities in their life’s journey is at the heart of what we do.

What You'll Do as Accounting Manager

Core Accounting, Reconciliations, and Close Processes:

  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including the close calendar, assignments, cutoff deadlines, and issue resolution.
  • Review and approve journal entries within delegated authority, ensuring accounting treatment, supporting documentation is complete, preparer and reviewer responsibilities are segregated.
  • Assign and review balance sheet, bank, subledger, prepaid, accrual, fixed-asset, and other account reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate supporting documentation; ensure reconciling items are documented, assigned, and resolved timely.
  • Review and post deposits and cash application, and review cash forecasting based on anticipated cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Support the review and reconciliation of H&W and other fringe-benefit expenses and liabilities, including voucher review or submission and collaborate with Benefits on carrier bills. Calculation, administration, and operational ownership remain with the respective functional teams.
  • Oversee fixed-asset additions, depreciation, disposals, insurance and prepaid schedules, accruals, and related accounting entries and rollforwards.

Financial Reporting, Audits, and Controls

  • Review preliminary financial statements, account activity, supporting schedules, and material fluctuations before VP review.
  • Prepare or review management reporting, financial-condition summaries, supporting schedules, and variance explanations; provide validated accounting information to support budgets, forecasts, and leadership decision-making.
  • Assist in coordination of financial-statement audit and accounting-support requests, assign accounting source owners, review general-ledger support, and maintain an audit-ready accounting evidence index.
  • Support Compliance-led DCAA, FAR, internal-audit, and regulatory reviews with requested accounting records and reconciliations.

Team Leadership and Process Improvement

  • Lead, coach train, develop the Accounting Lead and accounting staff.
  • Review work, set priorities and clear expectations, delegate effectively, ensure backup coverage, provide feedback, and address performance concerns.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost & Pricing, the Financial Analyst, Operations, Legal, IT, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve reporting and close processes.
  • Lead assigned accounting projects and accounting-system implementations, including requirements, testing, documentation, controls, issue resolution, training, and post-implementation validation.
  • Drive continuous improvement, documentation, and technology-enabled enhancements for Accounting and financial-reporting processes.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and accountable team; communicate priorities clearly, resolve workplace conflicts promptly and fairly, and escalate significant employee-relations matters appropriately.
  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness in accordance with departmental guidelines.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
