About this role
What We're Looking For
- The Graphic Designer partners with the Creative Design Lead to bring approved creative concepts and visual direction to life through polished, on-brand design across print and digital channels.
- This is a hands-on role for a formally trained, self-sufficient designer who can take a clear brief and move work from initial layout through production-ready delivery with minimal day-to-day oversight.
- The ideal candidate brings strong design fundamentals, sound creative judgment, and the ability to balance quality, consistency, and speed.
- This person will execute established creative direction while identifying thoughtful refinements that strengthen the concept, improve communication, or make production more efficient.
- A significant part of the role involves creating and maintaining reusable templates and producing template-based content, alongside custom design work in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
What You Will Do
Design Execution and Creative Support
- Translate briefs, approved concepts, and direction from the Creative Design Lead into compelling, cohesive design across digital, social, web, email, presentations, print, events, and educational materials.
- Independently manage assigned design work from initial layout through revisions, final production, and delivery.
- Extend established campaign concepts and visual systems across formats and channels while preserving the integrity of the original direction.
- Proactively recommend improvements to layout, typography, hierarchy, imagery, and format when they strengthen the approved concept or better serve the audience.
- Apply brand guidelines and established design standards consistently, seeking alignment with the Creative Design Lead when proposed changes materially affect the approved direction.
Templates and Scalable Content
- Create, adapt, and maintain a library of reusable, Canva templates that supports efficient content production and helps maintain brand standards.
- Produce a high volume of template-based content while maintaining design quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline recurring design needs through reusable layouts, organized assets, and repeatable production workflows.
Collaboration and Production
- Work seamlessly with copywriters to integrate copy and design, strengthening readability, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
- Collaborate with creative and marketing partners to deliver work aligned with the brief and project objectives.
- Incorporate feedback thoughtfully and efficiently, asking focused questions early and flagging conflicting direction, missing information, or production challenges.
- Manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities in a fast-paced creative environment, communicating progress and potential deadline risks proactively.
- Prepare accurate, production-ready files for print and digital use, coordinating with printers or production partners as needed.
- Review work carefully before submission, checking layout, copy placement, image quality, specifications, and brand consistency.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
- 4-6 years of professional graphic design experience demonstrating the ability to deliver polished work independently, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- A strong portfolio showing both custom design and consistent execution across related assets, formats, or campaigns.
- Strong command of typography, composition, visual hierarchy, color, imagery, and layout, including multi-page documents.
- Advanced to expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with the ability to work independently in each.
- Strong proficiency in Canva, including building reusable templates and efficiently producing template-based content.
- Experience working on fast-paced creative teams; experience within a corporate or in-house marketing environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with copywriters, creative leaders, and marketing partners.
- Knowledge of print production processes, file preparation, and digital delivery specifications.
- Excellent organization, time management, communication, and attention to detail.
- A proactive, team-oriented approach: comfortable taking direction, exercising independent judgment, suggesting improvements, and incorporating feedback.
What Success Looks Like
- The Creative Design Lead can delegate execution with confidence, without needing to direct every design decision.
- Deliverables reflect the approved creative vision and consistently meet brand, quality, and production standards.
- Canva templates make recurring content faster to produce without sacrificing visual quality.
- Thoughtful refinements strengthen the work while maintaining alignment with the approved direction.
- Projects move efficiently through collaboration, review, and delivery.
