Staff Accountant

We are a a progressive 40-person firm that has served the Southeastern PA business community for more than 70 years. We are interested in adding a staff accountant to our firm with 2 to 4 years experience, who would like to take advantage of working side-by-side with, and learning from, senior accountants. It is an ideal opportunity to learn while being able to work towards your CPA license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN:

• Supports project/engagement accounts through client and project set-up and system changes.
• Maintains and balances an automated system by inputting/verifying data.
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Prepares or assists in the preparation of individual tax returns, corporate/partnership tax returns, payroll tax returns, and other tax forms.
• Helps in preparation of consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing client information.
• Executes the day-to-day activities of audit engagements of various clients.
• Identify and communicate accounting & auditing matters to assigned supervisors.
• At supervisor’s discretion, interact with clients to help ensure information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient.
• Utilizes/updates the firm’s practice management system.
• Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or other math related major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
