Customer Service and Technical Support Specialist

Our customers want more than a price. They want to know the pump will work for their application. Price Pump Co. builds centrifugal, magnetic drive, vertical, and air-operated diaphragm (AOD) pumps in Caldwell, Idaho, and this role is where customer service and technical support meet.

As a Customer Service and Technical Support Specialist, you'll split your time between helping customers with quotes and orders and helping them choose the right pump. You'll work side by side with our applications and engineering teams, who are there when a question needs a deeper look.

If you like working through a problem with other people, and you can explain technical material clearly to someone who doesn't share your background, you'll do well here.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Customer service and technical support

• Take customer calls, answer technical questions, and help people select the right pump
• Review performance requirements and match standard models to what the customer needs
• Manage customer relationships and follow up on open quotes and orders

Applications work

• Work with our applications team on customer application challenges, from everyday pump selection to custom requests
• Bring in the applications team when a question goes beyond a standard model

Quotes and orders

• Prepare quotes and enter orders
• Keep customers informed as their orders move through production and shipping

Working with engineering and the test lab

• Work with our engineering and test lab teams when an answer needs more testing or data
• Pass back what you learn from customers so the whole team benefits

What helps you succeed

• Comfort on the phone talking with customers
• A positive attitude and a team-first approach
• Willingness to learn technical material and explain it in plain terms
• Customer service experience and pump experience are both preferred
• A degree, either technical or business, is preferred

Schedule and location

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This position is 100% on-site at our Caldwell facility, and remote work isn't available.

Pay

$25+ per hour, depending on experience.

Our 401(k) includes a company match: dollar for dollar on the first 3% you contribute, then 50 cents on the dollar on the next 2%, so contributing 5% means we add 4%.

You'll start with 15 days of paid time off, with more added at 5 and 10 years of service, plus 11 paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's when the company is closed.

We also provide company-paid life insurance ($100,000) and short-term disability, with long-term disability available, along with a pre-tax flexible spending account for medical, dental, and child care expenses. There's a discretionary annual bonus based on company performance, and a monthly team lunch when we hit our sales and shipment target.
