OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Full-Time | Independent Living Community | Apex, North Carolina
Prava Therapy
THERAPY THAT HELPS PEOPLE KEEP LIVING LIFE ON THEIR TERMS.
Prava Therapy is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our team within a vibrant Independent Living community in Apex, North Carolina.
This is an opportunity to practice meaningful, relationship-driven therapy in a community where residents value independence, wellness, connection, and an active lifestyle.
You'll get to know your residents, their routines, and the activities that matter to them most.
YOUR ROLE
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll provide skilled clinical care while becoming a trusted partner within the community.
You'll:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
- Provide skilled treatment addressing ADLs, IADLs, functional mobility, upper extremity function, adaptive strategies, cognitive-functional performance, and daily living independence.
- Connect therapy interventions to meaningful, resident-centered goals.
- Build strong relationships with residents and understand what matters most to them.
- Identify changes in function and opportunities for early intervention.
- Educate residents, families, caregivers, and community team members on home/apartment safety, adaptive equipment, energy conservation, and independence.
- Collaborate with physicians, community leadership, wellness professionals, and other members of the care team.
- Monitor progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical presentation and functional outcomes.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
- Participate in care coordination and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, compassion, professionalism, and continuous learning.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR AN OT WHO THINKS BEYOND THE TREATMENT SESSION.
You believe great therapy isn't simply about completing an assessment score or finishing an exercise routine. It's about helping someone do more of what matters to them.
That might mean managing daily routines with ease, dressing independently, engaging in favorite hobbies, safely navigating their apartment and the community, preparing a meal, or feeling confident in daily life activities.
You believe:
- Every intervention should have a functional purpose.
- Residents should be appropriately challenged—not underestimated.
- Independence and autonomy are clinical priorities.
- Prevention and early intervention matter.
- Environmental adaptation and caregiver education are essential to skilled therapy.
- Functional outcomes matter more than simply completing treatment minutes.
- Strong clinical relationships lead to better care.
YOU'LL HAVE A COMMUNITY — NOT JUST A CASELOAD.
Working in Independent Living gives you the opportunity to see residents beyond the treatment session.
You'll see them participating in activities, heading to the dining room, meeting friends, or simply going about their day. Those interactions provide valuable insight into their function and create opportunities to support continued independence.
Therapy becomes part of everyday life—not something that exists separately from it.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF...
You're an Occupational Therapist who:
- Enjoys building genuine relationships with patients.
- Takes pride in thoughtful clinical reasoning and individualized care.
- Believes therapy should improve someone's actual life.
- Values independence, autonomy, and resident choice.
- Enjoys collaborating with other professionals.
- Is curious, compassionate, and committed to continued growth.
- Communicates clearly and takes ownership of patient outcomes.
- Wants to make a meaningful impact in the community where you practice.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Residents know you and trust you.
- Patients understand what they're working toward.
- Families feel informed and supported.
- Community staff see you as a clinical resource.
- Your treatment plans are purposeful and individualized.
- And your patients are better able to participate in the activities, relationships, and routines that make their lives meaningful.
That's success.
