Job Description

PlatWidget is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, enhance, and maintain web-based software solutions that support interactive mapping, property inventory management, and real estate marketing. The ideal candidate will have experience building reliable web applications, integrating APIs, working with databases, and improving application performance.

In this role, you will contribute to application features that help home builders, land developers, and real estate professionals manage property information and deliver interactive digital experiences. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate product requirements into practical, maintainable software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and software features.
• Build responsive user interfaces and interactive web components.
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party platforms.
• Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage property and listing information.
• Improve application performance, reliability, accessibility, and security.
• Troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.
• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to define technical requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow software development best practices.

Required Skills

• Experience in software engineering or web application development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and modern web development concepts.
• Understanding of API integration, database design, and data management.
• Familiarity with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Knowledge of software testing, debugging, and version control.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and collaborate with a small technical team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React or another modern JavaScript framework.
• Familiarity with Node.js or comparable backend technologies.
• Knowledge of SQL databases and REST APIs.
• Experience integrating interactive maps, data visualizations, or external services.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
• Experience developing SaaS products or business-oriented web applications.
