Job Description

Platform9 Systems is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain modern cloud-native software products. The ideal candidate will contribute to engineering projects involving distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and container-based technologies.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable software solutions, improve application performance, and support reliable cloud infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native software applications.
• Build software services for distributed cloud environments.
• Develop and improve backend components using modern programming languages.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on product design and implementation.
• Troubleshoot software defects and infrastructure-related issues.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and software testing.
• Support Kubernetes-based products and cloud infrastructure deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming knowledge in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Understanding of software engineering principles and data structures.
• Knowledge of Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and distributed systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts and software development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a technical environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with OpenStack or DevStack.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and virtualization.
• Experience developing distributed systems or SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Understanding of networking protocols and cloud-native architecture.

Compensation

Estimated annual salary range: $112,000 – $160,000, depending on experience, technical skills, and job-related qualifications. Additional compensation may include equity or other incentives, subject to employer policy.
