About this role

Electrical Field Operations Manager

Pirro Electric, Inc. | Rockville/Gaithersburg, MD

Full-Time | $90,000–$110,000 annually, based on experience

Position Overview

Pirro Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our commercial and residential electrical contracting business throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia.

This position will work directly with company ownership and take responsibility for coordinating field crews, managing subcontractors, scheduling service calls, ordering materials, and overseeing projects from start to completion.

Our work includes commercial tenant improvements, residential renovations, property maintenance and service calls, and larger ongoing electrical projects.

We are looking for someone with a strong electrical background who is organized, dependable, and capable of independently managing multiple jobs and field employees.

This is a hands-on management position. The primary focus will be field operations and project coordination, but the candidate must also be comfortable troubleshooting, performing service work, and assisting with electrical installations when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily and weekly schedules for electricians, helpers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate service calls, residential remodels, commercial projects, and larger ongoing installations.
  • Oversee project progress, quality of work, manpower, and deadlines.
  • Order materials, coordinate deliveries, and ensure crews have what they need to complete their assignments.
  • Visit jobsites regularly to monitor productivity, workmanship, and safety.
  • Communicate with customers, general contractors, property managers, and inspectors.
  • Monitor labor hours and material expenses to help maintain project budgets.
  • Identify additional work, potential change orders, and project issues.
  • Coordinate inspections, project completion, and closeout documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance and hands-on electrical support when needed.
  • Assist with employee training, field organization, and improving company procedures.
  • Provide regular updates to company ownership on scheduling, project progress, and outstanding issues.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of electrical experience preferred.
  • Prior experience as an electrical foreman, superintendent, field supervisor, or project manager.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and residential electrical installations.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, troubleshoot electrical systems, and interpret NEC requirements.
  • Experience supervising multiple employees and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Strong scheduling, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile applications, and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a leader who takes ownership of their responsibilities, stays ahead of scheduling and material needs, and knows how to keep jobs moving without constant supervision.

The ideal candidate is someone who can manage multiple projects, communicate effectively with employees and customers, solve problems in the field, and lead by example.

This is an opportunity to take on a significant leadership role within a growing electrical company, with potential for long-term advancement.
