Become a Key Player as an Embedded Senior Software Engineer
You will design, develop, verify and lead embedded software projects that enable fuel measurement, management and inerting systems for aerospace and industrial applications. You will partner closely with systems and electronic hardware engineering stakeholders and lead projects from planning through execution. Onsite (100% onsite) in the client facility; US/Eastern calendar and schedule expectations apply.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Develop embedded software using C and model-based tools (e.g., SCADE) for microcontrollers and black-box environments.
- Create high-level and low-level software requirements and requirements-based test cases and verification procedures.
- Perform software integration testing on target hardware using real and simulated I/O.
- Analyze requirements, design and code for compliance with industry certification and safety standards and perform traceability analysis.
- Participate in software certification audits and stages of involvement (SOI).
- Lead projects: own project planning, management and execution (~25% project management, ~75% development).
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- BS in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, verification and/or integration.
- Strong C programming skills for microcontrollers and experience coding to black-box environments.
- Familiarity with industry software development and design assurance standards (examples listed: DO-178, ISO 26262, EN 50128, IEC 61508, IEC 62304).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate initiative.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; no relocation available.
Here's What Else Might Help You Out
- Experience with model-based development using SCADE.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience managing requirements using DOORS or DOORS Next Gen (DNG).
- Experience with ARM microprocessors, DSP/digital filter design, and serial protocols (CANbus, ARINC, RS-232).
- Familiarity with aerospace certification (DO-178, DO-330, DO-331) or industrial standards (IEC 61508, ISO 26262).
Pay Range
$106,000 - $142,000 plus 12.5% bonus/year
