About the Role:
Performance Pediatrics is looking for a passionate and dedicated School Based Physical Therapist to join our growing team in Lafayette, NJ! This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children by delivering high-quality therapeutic care within a school setting. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to school-aged children in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify students' physical therapy needs
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to improve students' functional mobility and independence
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student goals
- Document progress notes, evaluation reports, and IEP goals in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and parent conferences
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on therapeutic strategies and adaptive equipment
Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid New Jersey Physical Therapy license (or ability to obtain)
- NJ School Certification
- Experience in pediatric or school-based physical therapy preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes, special education law, and IDEA regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and school teams
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
