Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of occupational therapy principles, with experience in diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and geriatric care.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating patient needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to promote functional independence and improve quality of life.
This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across various populations, including individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and those undergoing post-acute care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning.
- Develop individualized care plans aligned with patient goals and clinical best practices.
- Implement targeted occupational therapy programs to enhance daily living activities (ADLs), motor skills, and cognitive functions.
- Assist patients with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing education on home modifications and adaptive techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physicians, and case managers—to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document clinical findings accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Support patients across various settings such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health environments.
- Provide specialized interventions for populations including pediatrics (early intervention, school-based), geriatrics, occupational health, and individuals with autism spectrum disorders or neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Participate in case management activities to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based practices in occupational therapy.
Skills
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments across diverse patient populations.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practice.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders—including autism—and special education needs in school or clinical settings.
- Ability to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs and goals.
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and implementing adaptive strategies for independence.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management and clinical documentation standards.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients and families effectively.
- Experience working in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of post-acute care processes including discharge planning and case management strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within interprofessional teams to deliver holistic patient care.
- Background in pediatric occupational therapy—particularly early intervention—and working with students with disabilities or special education needs is preferred.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice principles to ensure high-quality treatment outcomes.

Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour
