QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapist license in Maryland or eligibility to obtain one
- NBCOT certification preferred
Every state requires Occupational Therapists to have a state license. If you do not have a Maryland license, the licensing team at PDS will help you through the process!
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
As an Occupational Therapist, you will spend your day helping improve the lives of children. Setting students up for success both in the school setting and beyond is meaningful work that builds a rewarding career!
You will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to students based on their IEPs and 504 plans. You will evaluate students' functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, provide direct therapy, and collaborate with teachers, families, and other members of the educational team.
Your work may focus on areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, handwriting, activities of daily living, and other skills that help students successfully participate in their school environment.
